What’s really cool are Carver Edlund’s Supernatural books. Edie is sure Sam and Dean are actually real, and she knows just who to ask to help her prove it.

Takes place during season one of House, after House and Cameron go on that terrible date. Loosely based on Season 1 episode 12 of Supernatural, Faith, but if Dean went to the hospital House works at and Sam made Dean go back to the hospital. Sam goes to check out the healer guy (I forgot his name) and immediately realizes something weird is happening so the lady targets Dean by healing that girl with a brain tumor by giving it to Dean (I think that's how it worked, if not idc that's how it works for this fic). Then Dean helps Sam realize he's bi and likes Chase. Then House tells Chase he's gay by coming out to Chase for him. Also a little bit of House being Chase's father figure. (Still can't believe that's canon.)

Dean freezes. “You-…” He locks eyes with Sam, who raises his eyebrows in question. “You’re hunting something?”
Sam stands up. “Put it on speaker, Dean.”
Dean waves him off, glaring. “What the fuck do you mean hunting, Carl? You don’t- you are not allowed to hunt things.” Sam’s eyes widen and he crowds in next to Dean to listen.
“You can’t tell me what to do,” Carl says. “If you’re gonna be all Dean about it, I’ll just call Sam. I don’t need the lecture. But I do need your help, I don’t know how to kill it. Or… track it down, really. I’m not even completely sure I’m right.”

It would have been nice to have had the angel’s healing mojo in the past. But when it comes down to it, it’s not them he wishes they’d had the angels around to save. It’s everyone else—all of the people they hadn’t been able to save. Or worse, the ones that they’d damned.
In particular, he can’t stop thinking about Layla. The girl who'd had more faith than Dean could ever dream of. He was chosen to be healed when she had deserved it so much more. Before the other night, he hadn’t thought about her in years. He’s been too much of a coward to look her up because he knows what he’ll find. She’d told him she only had six months, and that time was up long ago. There’s no way she’s still around to save now.
But angels can do a hell of a lot more than just heal people. They can travel back in time too.

Carefully, quietly, knowing that Dean will kill him if he wakes up, Sam eases out of his own jacket and drapes it over his brother's sleeping frame.
He holds his breath when Dean stirs, mumbling something in his sleep, before he hunkers down in Sam's jacket, tugging it tighter over his shoulders. He doesn't wake up.
Sam sighs, and starts the car. He turns the heater on as warm as he can stand, and pulls them back out onto the road.
