Summary
It all started with a bad call in the spring of 2008.
It was a Saturday morning and they were called out to a kids’ soccer game at a park. A kid had gotten stung by a bee and went into anaphylactic shock.
It should have been simple. Have one of the paramedics give the kid a shot of epinephrine and take the kid to the hospital. They really shouldn’t have even been required to get off of the fire engine.
But when was anything in Tommy’s life ever simple?

Summary
The curly-haired man huffs, crossing his arms over his chest, “And get this. Later, I heard him talking to the Chief on the phone? He took all the credit for my idea!” he throws his arms up in frustration as Tommy finishes tying the balloon and adding it to the growing pile at his feet.
Tommy makes a sympathetic noise, closing the gap between himself and Buck, snaking his arms around the other man’s waist in a sideways hug, pressing a kiss on the side of his head right over his birthmark. “I’m sorry, sweetheart.”
Buck turns in his arms so they’re pressed together at the chest and raises an eyebrow at him, “Why are you apologising?”
Tommy gives him a half-hearted shrug, “I don’t know. Not knowing how to help, even though I really want to?”
Buck rolls his eyes playfully, wrapping his own arms around his boyfriend’s shoulders, pressing even closer. “You are helping,” he says, “By just being here. Just being you.”

Summary
He doesn't want to lose his job either, but this is what’s fair. He swore to protect people, to have his teammates' backs, and that’s not what he did back then. No matter how much of an asshole Gerrard is (or was), his actions were unacceptable and he is tired of everyone pretending he is a hero when he is clearly not.
Buck sat down at the café table, the clatter of dishes and murmur of conversation around him dull compared to the thudding in his chest. Across from him, Detective Petrova and Officer Williams took their seats. He inhaled deeply, bracing himself for the questions he’d been waiting for—the ones about his boss, the rescue, everything.
But the first question threw him completely off balance.
“So, Buck,” Detective Petrova started, glancing at her notepad before meeting his eyes. “What can you tell us about Doctor Wells?”//OR// I brought up that dead body from the grave because I still can't believe how they brushed it off

"Excuse me?" Bobby says, walking up to stand behind him, acting almost like a shield.
The cops barely pay any mind to him. "Mr. Buckley, do you understand the rights I have read to you?"

Summary
After spending months at his boyfriend Evan "Buck" Buckley's apartment recovering from his helicopter crash and fallen tree injuries, Tommy Kinard has recovered enough to go back to work.
EXCERPT:
“‘You Didn’t Die!’ That’s the banner you went with?” snorted Tommy, not sure what he was expecting.
But.
It wasn’t as if he was surprised by the choice.
“What? You’re chuckling. You just snorted! I knew you’d like it,” said Lucy, grinning as she handed Tommy a slice of a cake shaped like a fallen down tree.
It was a honey cake with dark chocolate rings of buttercream and icing that looked like tree bark and leaves. It did look strikingly like the tree that had fallen on Tommy and Tommy wondered how they got that just right.
And.
Okay.
Yes, Tommy was chuckling.
“Yeah. I like this whole party,” said Tommy, because he liked gallows humor.
“Your boyfriend suggested the cake place. They do a lot of specialty cakes. I mean. Dicks mostly, I assume, but also cakes shaped like other things, as you can see by the tree,” said Melton, “Your boyfriend actually helped with a lot of the coordination of this welcome back party. He’s kind of scary.”

It’s still loud in his head, with noises, and Gerrard’s voice still screaming at him. His hands sting but he can’t stop, he can’t stop. He’s unsure if the water is stained with Gerrard’s blood or his.
“Buck, buddy,” Eddie says softly, pushing at his shoulder. “Buck, it’s okay, you need to stop, you’re making your hands bleed.”
He knows that. He knows that, he’s not an idiot, but he just might be a murderer.
