There was no blood. No wound. Only absence—a void shaped like her. His heart.
A low, cracked sound wrenched from his throat, half-growl, half-moan. “𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵,” he rasped, “𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘧𝘦?”

Summary
When Esha's twin brother dies, she feels like she's lost the light in her life. When she's sent to investigate The Conclave in his place, she wakes up with no memory of what happened, a magical mark on her hand, and people telling her she's guilty. The problem is, she doesn't remember what happened.
Denied proper mage training her entire life, she joins the Inquisition with very little mastery over her magic. She closes the rifts and her companions deal with the demons. But Esha isn't content to rely on others, and seeks out the help of Solas, one of the most talented mages she knows. He's a graceful and patient apostate who can traverse the Fade with ease. As the closest thing to her clan's historian, and with a curiosity of the Fade, she finds a friend in Solas. Perhaps even more.

It was odd that she hadn’t noticed him yet, he was sure he had let out a noise as he collapsed forward. Speaking of it, he felt much smaller than he had before. As he looked down, he let out a sob as he saw the weak limbs of those little scampering creatures that usually wore that odd shiny coating. The creatures usually shout at him angrily, or fearfully as he soared above. He never attacked unless provoked, what could they possibly be angry at him for? What happened to him? Had they done this to him as punishment?

Summary
Being trapped in another world is a hell of a thing.
You learn a lot about yourself. Who you really are, deep down inside. What lines you'll cross to stay alive, to try and get home. Who you think you can trust, who you think you love. Just how many lies you'll be willing to tell to keep your secrets. How much blood you're willing to shed.
I shed a lot of it, in Kirkwall, and I've spent seven years in purgatory as a result. Seven years trapped somewhere beyond reality, but not quite in the Fade. My only company myself, and a Desire Demon just as unhappy with the situation as I am. Oh. And... an Elven Goddess, I suppose.
Kind of hard to forget about her, since she's the one giving the orders now. Giving me the truth of how I ended up in Thedas, why I ended up there, and just what she expects me to do now that the Inquisition has begun. Can't say I'm happy about any of it, or that I'm about to actually follow her orders.
But then... I'm not sure how much of a choice I'll have.
