Summary
After the Skip Button ending, the Narrator is reset with fragmented memories, a memory wipe in-progress, and a terror of being alone. He makes the excellent life decision to repress as much as possible and get on with business as usual, with the concession of seeing Stanley in-person.
--
“The Story,” says the Narrator, although he’s still not letting go. “We must get back to it.” His arms don’t seem to be moving.
“Yeah, no,” says Stanley, drawing away a little in his embrace, regarding him critically at the length of his arm.

Summary
Stanley was, in the Narrator's mind, the absolute worst candidate for a protagonist he could have chosen.
But seeing him in such a state - calm, content, huddled quietly under a blanket - he couldn't bring himself to hate him.

Summary
"You see, Stanley, I've had my doubts, and I already paid full price for these babies. They function, yes, but I, as an artist more than a professional, can barely tell if I got my fair share of value with these things. Of course, silly me, for not asking you in the first place– you were off, far too busy with other things. And of course, I was swayed to purchase these on my own, without your consultation or advice."
Wow, Stanley thought to himself. Does the Narrator finally have that much trust and respect towards Stanley's little hobby?
"I have my doubts."
Does he not feel a sense of achievement, heralded as the expert of buttons? Perhaps he does. He should.
"And I must satisfy them."
Truly, he must be honoured. He trembles at the notion.

If he ignored the fact that his very heart was frozen to a stop while paused, The Narrator could almost believe that Stanley was simply asleep.

Summary
Based on a prompt from yoursongbird: How about a reader that intentionally tampers with the office for shits and giggles? Like purposely no-clipping or going out of bounds. Specifically for a response from the Narrator, just to annoy him. Maybe a spice of romance would be nice too?
Simply put, you were the bane of the Narrator's existence. Ignoring the fact that he does not exist the same way that you or other mortals do. But when he reluctantly follows one of your suggestions, that leads to a trek through Firewatch's woods and the digging up of carefully buried emotions.

Summary
Stanley stays on the moving lift only until The Narrator says, “Imagine the main character dying senselessly halfway through the story, that story would make no sense at all.” Then he hops up to sit on the rail, salutes the air, and lets himself fall backward off the lift.
And since the death sequence is disabled during this ending, when Stanley hits the floor, he only has the wind briefly knocked out of him. The rebellious protagonist sits up, triumphant, and begins to study his surroundings. The Narrator decides he doesn’t care anymore.
“Good job, Stanley, you’ve successfully broken my game. Have fun down there,” he says wearily.

In Which Stanley Discovers The Narrator's Office by WubadubadubIsThatTrue

Summary
Maybe, if The Narrator wasn’t doing his absolute best to ignore Stanley’s nonsense, he would have already noticed that something isn’t quite right here. How very easy it is to forget that he has a number; a number that corresponds to an office, no less. Silly man. He should have been more careful.
The Narrator stands and whirls around just in time to see Stanley start to wander in, expecting another empty office. Stanley freezes when he realises that the office is very much not empty.

Summary
There was nothing particularly interesting about Stanley. He was a man like any other, who lived his life as best he could under the direct control of an ethereal being that happened to have a charming British accent. So there should be no reason why said ethereal being should be so obsessed with him.
Right?
