Summary
When George’s allergies start to worsen, Dream becomes increasingly concerned for him, insisting he see a doctor. Dream becomes more and more protective and affectionate towards George, using the allergies as an excuse. George would normally push Dream away, but he finds himself enjoying the attention and care. As Dream pampers him far beyond what’s necessary for some allergies, George starts falling for him, realizing that maybe he’s loved Dream for a long time. Dream’s devotion makes George believe they’re slowly becoming a couple- until Dream flirts with someone at a party. Crushed, George feels betrayed, convinced he misunderstood everything. The fallout is explosive, ending in a heated argument and a lot of tears. Did George misread Dream’s actions, or were Dream’s feelings real all along? Can they mend what’s been broken, or will this misunderstanding drive them apart for good? The two are sure they’re standing on opposite sides of a rift, but are they really?

“But others will. Your people. Other governments. The future of your country is in your hands. You’re the prince, they expect you to marry someone worthy. I’m just your bodyguard.”
George takes a step forward, putting himself in Dream’s personal space. Dream’s hands are immediately on him.
“I don’t care what they think of me.”“But I care, My Prince.”
Dream kisses the corner of George’s mouth, and then puts distance between them once again.
After a failed assassination attempt, Dream admits he has feelings for George, but he still refuses to take a step forward with him. So George does the next rational thing - he starts hiring killers for himself.

The king spoke up after studying Dream for a moment. "Throughout the past five years you have more than proven yourself to be loyal to my cause and I want you to become a part of the royal guards inner circle."
Dream felt almost sick hearing those words, especially because he felt like they had become true. He didn’t want them to be true.
"I want you to be my son’s personal guard," the king announced.
The prince’s eyes snapped to Dream with an expression he couldn’t quite read, before returning to an indifferent expression.
After a moment Dream answered, "It would be an honor."

After an unlucky heist Dream gets captured and is forced to work for the corrupt king. What happens when he finds himself falling in love with the prince? Could he really betray his father’s legacy like that?

He felt Dream’s intense gaze flicker up and down his body, hovering on the spots he had previously come in contact with; his left shoulder, center of his chest, right foot, tip of his pointer finger. The color, same as those eyes, that George now knew painted the skin beneath his clothes, stung all over again. With a sickening permanence that made George want to hurl.
“George–”
“I think you should go,” George cut him off, steeling himself and standing up straight.
“George–”
“I said go, Dream,” George’s voice rose, he didn’t want it to, but it did. He spares a look to Dream as the blond stands up too. He looks hurt. George tries not to think about it.

And with Sapnap going along with whatever George is doing, the two of them realize just how much they actually want to be together as they blur the line between real and joking.

The stability that George provided himself earlier ensures their fall isn't quite the same as before. Somehow, Sapnap’s chin lands just beneath George's, whose eyes are drooped and flooded with something unexplainable Sapnap feels a tug on his chest suddenly suffocate in. A shaky exhale releases from the Brits lips at the close proximity of their faces, and lips, to be more precise to George’s own thoughts.
“Sapnap…” George whispers delicately, barely even there. So much so that Sapnap thinks he might not have said anything at all.
The four times George and Sapnap almost kiss, and the one time they do.

Reality came crashing down as his consciousness choked him awake.
Dream was rendered immobile for a few seconds, a short burst of time that dragged on for seemingly an eternity as he processed the fact that he had woken up tangled up with his best friend. Even their legs were intertwined, the blond’s splayed out and one of George’s slotted in between as he curled up as tightly as possible around the taller frame. He pondered for those treacherous seconds on how it had happened– did George get cold in the middle of the night? Did he just gravitate towards Dream because he was larger and soothing to hold?
Was it intentional?
Because of George’s constant asking, Dream and George go on a summer vacation to a cabin in the middle of nowhere. They walk a fine line as friends, and learn navigate their indiscernible feelings towards each other.
Oh, and there's only one bed.
