Summary
“Well,” the boy said to it as the sun dipped closer to the trees, “your hero didn't show up yet, but I bet they're coming! I bet they're real nice, too. You’re probably going to save the world together.”
He was borrowing it. He was borrowing the Sword of Legend, and… what, checking in to see if it was needed? Waiting for a hero to come for it?
It wasn’t sure what to think. It wasn’t supposed to think about its wielders. But it found itself looking forward to the stories, keeping an eye out while the boy slept, memorizing as much of the information he gave it as it could.
Its job was to protect the innocent, after all.
Or: Hyrule finds a sword. The sword has opinions about this.

“He’s like a living version of my Grandma’s poetry book.” The youngest among them tugged as the blue cape of the Captain. “He lost me after the first ‘thou’. What’s he going on about?”
“I think he’s trying to say that he hasn’t spoken to anyone in a while,” Four said, urging him to whisper.
“No but after that,” came Legend, “he complimented us right?”
“Shit if I know.”
They kept that up, whispering and dissecting the stranger’s words, all while their subject of discussion stood before them wondering what prompted weird reaction. “Ah, lengthy isolation hath loosened my tongue I s’pose?”
-
Time caught his look and continued, “The thing is...”“Ya talk funny,” Twilight blurted out.
A series of coughs followed as the others tried desperately to keep neutral expressions, especially Wild, who was barely choking back a snicker. The rancher had said what they’d all been thinking but they didn’t expect it to come out that bluntly.
Legend dug an elbow hard into his side and Warriors hissed, “Have some tact goatboy!”
“What?!” Twilight gunted, shaking them away. “At least he won’t misunderstand me.”
“Thou’rt regard me a comic?” asked the stranger.
-
“He wasn’t making fun of you- as in that wasn’t an insult,” Sky affirmed, raising a brow at Twilight. “He was trying to say that we find your way of speaking...hard to understand?”The stranger stared blankly before letting out a long sigh, as if finally letting out a long held baited breath. He didn’t vocalize anything, just sort of nodded and looked off to the side.
Sky eyebrows knitted together and he looked towards Warriors, who shrugged in defeat. Neither were sure if the stranger was offended or simply hadn’t understood. An awkward silence that not even nature’s ambience could sooth then followed.

Notes:
Story notes:First is a people person, he’s spent years building relations with other tribes in Hylia’s name. Except he did by conquest, and never had to deal with language barriers because ether Hylia herself dealt with that stuff or used magic to allow all sides to understand each other so First could be in his element.
Ordinarily, if confronted by people who can’t understand him and vice versa he’ll normally stay quiet and observe them. But when meeting the chain here he was coming back from a month long quest where he was alone, saw them, assumed they were Hylia’s subjects and rushed to greet them. Basically, he was excited to see people again and strong fighters at that.
If First ever did join the chain (provided Hylia would allow her most powerful knight to run off with them), I like to think that he’d become Hyrule’s mentor. Legend is more like older cousin to him since they’re close in age, but I’d like to see First acting as like a dorky uncle to him. Since I headcanon that First grew up from really humble beginnings, he’d see himself in Hyrule a bit.

Summary
An AU where Twilight loses his Twilight Shard and meets the Chain stuck as Wolfie with no way to transform back.
It will consist of a lot of oneshots/multichap fics of the Chain traveling around with Wolfie, having no clue that he’s really just a guy who’s stuck as a wolf. Will include an unhealthy amount of found family bonding and Time being the Chain’s collective dad (or dog dad, in Twilight’s unfortunate case).

Summary
Talon came back from a milk delivery at Kakariko village
"Think you'll like this story it's a lot like the ones you enjoy telling"
"That so?"
"The grave keeper saw this purple light that made a weird noise and out of it came this beast"
"What'd the beast look like?"
"It was nighttime and the grave keeper was in his house, didn't get a good look. Claimed the beast was terrifying to hear though. Sounded huge and left as quick as it came"
That's already his cue but Talon wasn't done talking
"Also some guy was in the graveyard with the beast"
This is really his cue to do something
"What'd he look like?" Thinking of his dream
"Don't know. Thou 'parently he had quite the mouth. Say he'd screamed and swore something fierce before running off"
Yup Malon gave a quiet but knowing look He wasn't going to be around for a while Time to dust off his armour and weapons
My take on the Chain's first meeting You know how most fics first meetings have them go from era to era to pick them up Well if you reread the start it's highly implied what happened is the 8 of them came through a portal and ended up in Time's era Where he probably had to go round them up

Summary
The Chain had a simple task before them: Hunt the black blood monsters that were attacking farms in the north before winter sets in, saving countless lives in the process.
Little did they know that this simple quest of theirs would turn out to be a waking nightmare as a conspiracy begins to unravel before their very eyes.
Soon the Chain will learn why Legend's timeline is in downfall, and why Hyrule's era is the way that it is.
(A mostly Legend-centric story that tells the tale of the downfall of the Downfall Timeline. It wasn't just the Fallen Hero that caused it all, no, it was something far greater than that. A conspiracy, a cult, and a plan to save the world that went horribly, horribly wrong.)

Hero’s Aspect AU by Tashacee

Summary
Wild had a terrible awful no good bad day when he meets the Chain stuck wearing the Ancient Hero’s Aspect.
How is he supposed to explain that he isn’t always a giant cat-boi? Who will be the better cuddler, him or Wolfie? Will Flora ever stop laughing at his predicament?
Pure fluff and crack taken seriously. Have fun and let me know any suggestions!

Summary
A question that made his heart almost stop. He didn’t know what to cook for them, he realized. He doesn’t remember what they like or don’t like, and even though he cooked before they left his Hyrule, he hadn’t given it much thought. He had many new recipes now, new ingredients to still experiment with, but he was suddenly so conscious.
Would they like what he cooked? Was the last moment just luck on his end?
...
Perhaps this was too much. It was a lot to get used to traveling in a group, much less one as big as this one.
— - —
After reuniting with the heroes, Wild's recent adventure has changed him in many ways, the chain notices. Of course, adjusting to his return isn't as easy as they thought. Family doesn't mean perfect.
A continuation of "tears (and tears) through time" This is not a stand-alone work.

Summary
Once, Hyrule was the only person he knew named Link. He was the only person who had held the triforce, the only person who had to run from the forces of evil, to defeat an enemy too great when he was too young, too small, too alone. Once, he cast a desperate bit of arcane magic and thrust himself and eight strangers on a quest.
Now, Legend smiles more, and Twilight's shadows are a little lighter. Now Wind laughs as loud as a storm with Sky's smile as soft as the following calm.
Someday soon, Wild will stand in a land of darkness, fighting an enemy all too easy to laugh off, though the darkness doesn't laugh. The shadows themselves will plot and scheme. Soon Wars' own darkness with reach out for him. It isn't long until Four is haunted by his own shadow. Maybe, if they had enough warning there would be something that could be done.
The problem with Time is that he knows the cost of meddling. Then, now, and then again, he was, is, and will be unable to warn them all properly. That's the issue with time travel. For those outside of the stream, the course of it can't be seen, can't be planned for. By the time you realize it's happened, it's already too late.

One of the greatest fanfics I have ever read in more than a decade and a half of fandoms. This story is both terrible and amazing to read and I am in such awe of Freyja’s skill. Absolutely 💯 % incredibly crafted.
Coming back for my second reread and am preparing to be wrecked all over again.

Summary
Time nearly dropped the phone.
”Warriors?”
Despite eight years of radio silence, he recognized his younger brother’s voice. He used to sound just like that when he told off other kids on the playground for being unfair by not letting him take a turn on the swings.
"Nothing is wrong," Warriors said firmly. "My younger brother was exaggerating. I apologize for bothering you. Good night."
"Wait-"
OR:
Time hasn't heard from his little brothers since their dad kicked him out on his eighteenth birthday. But when he gets a panicked phone call from a kid claiming to be his third brother and learns some very worrying things, not even Warriors' promises can stop him from getting involved.
But when Time shows up to confront their father, he's long gone.
With Legend painfully defensive at every turn, Warriors in deep denial about their abandonment, and Hyrule, a new baby brother he never even knew existed, Time's life is about to take a difficult turn. He's not at all prepared for taking care of three kids, and is haunted by guilt from the past and anxiety for the future.
But no matter what troubles they bring, Time will never abandon his brothers the way their father did.- Language:

Summary
If Wild was bothered by his tone, then Legend didn’t see it, too focused was he on the distant spit of land. “That’s Eventide Island. I had a difficult shrine quest there once before. It’s the largest island I have on my map. I guess you wouldn’t have seen it last time when it was storming, huh?”
Fishing boats groaned in protest as they were knocked against the docks. The wind picked up, blowing out towards the island and pulling at Legend’s clothes. There was a voice in there somewhere, he could feel it. All because…
“The Egg hatched.” His words escaped him as a thin, awestruck rasp, barely audible over the sounds of the waves. That was supposed to be the end of it, right? Once the Egg hatched, and he vanquished the nightmares that had been keeping the Wind Fish from waking up, then it'd be over. The image of Koholint Island vanishing like the dream it was supposed to be was permanently seared into his mind.
Only it wasn’t gone. It was here, after so much time spent chasing the unreal. And it was waiting for him.OR
Legend discovers Eventide Island, the spitting image of Koholint. And he'll do anything to wake the Wind Fish again.

Summary
It all starts with a memory.
When Time, Twilight and Wild realise that they have something in common other than the Hero's Spirit and their Beast Souls, they fall down a rabbit hole of secrets and family relationships, not just concerning themselves, but the rest of the Chain as well. The blood of heroes runs through their veins, and not just because they have all proven themselves to be worthy of the title.
The Chain finds themselves with a new goal, besides just defeating the Shadow and its black-blooded hordes. They find themselves an opportunity to right a wrong twenty years and multiple timelines in the making. And they will correct it, even if they have to break time itself to do so.

Summary
To his left, Hyrule was healing a scar on Legend’s arm. Further along the campfire, Wild was scrolling through his Sheikah Slate, combing over his inventory, while Wind peered over his shoulder every so often, appearing bored. Across from him, Warriors and Four were mending tunics and wiping down armor of the sickly black blood. Sky looked about ready to fall asleep, even though stars were only just beginning to appear above them. And to his right, Twilight stared absently into the fire, quietly humming a tune that Time didn’t recognize but knew his descendant was particularly fond of.
Now there was an idea.
Time reached into the small drawstring pouch he always kept at his side and pulled out an ocarina, barely able to contain himself. “Everyone’s being awfully quiet; why not we play some music?”
He received a couple of confused stares. But for the others, the response was immediate. A ripple passed through the gathered heroes as they reached for their instruments.OR
The Chain gathers around for an evening of sharing instruments and songs with Time. And Wild doesn't know what to make of it.
