Focused as he is on Hotguy, Cub barely notices himself being backed into a corner. Cub’s powers mean that the world holds very few actual corners for him, but- A selfish urge, to have Hotguy’s hands on him, to be slammed against a wall- To make the whole thing real.
A miscalculation. Hotguy does lay hands on him, but not to throw.

Hotguy’s power suppression cuffs. Cub had forgotten them. Hotguy never uses them on Cub.
Hotguy looks almost as startled as Cub does by his own actions. By the cuff on Cub’s wrist, real and solid.
If Cub phases out now, everyone will know. Hotguy will know. For the sake of his powers ruse, Cub has to pretend his powers are properly suppressed by the cuffs.
In a snap decision Cub may never understand about himself, he snatches the other cuff out of Hotguy’s hand, slapping it closed around Hotguy’s wrist with a second decisive click.Or:

A pity, almost. A man so tragic that even the reds felt pity for him.

“Good puppy… good boy…” he muttered, the words stuttering out through the muzzle as he rubbed his hand along the collar, feeling the cool metal buckle against the nape of his neck and the soft resistance of the leather. He repeated the phrases, letting them tumble over themselves as if they were affirmations, grounding him further in the sensations of control, submission, and self-contained pleasure.
His tail responded almost immediately, flicking with subtle arcs that brushed along his thighs and the mattress beneath him. The tactile connection of fur to flesh, leather to skin, and strap to muscle created a layered symphony of sensation that pulsed with every heartbeat. Each subtle twitch of the tail pressed the base against the mattress, sending a faint, continuous friction across the harness, a reminder of the precise alignment of every strap.

"Jimmy placed a hand over his mouth and did his best to muffle the cough. The action was successful in not alerting his humans to the sound but it did nothing to stop the ache in his throat. He rubbed at his neck with a wince and tried to clear his throat, but the action only made the pain worse, making him wince all over again.
He glanced over at Grian and then at Joel, both of whom were at their respective desks and working on homework. Jimmy was, as he always tended to be, on Joel’s nightstand with Joel's phone. Of course, he hadn’t been paying attention to it for the last several minutes, too focused on the scratchiness of his throat and the fact that he was feeling much too hot all of a sudden.
Jimmy couldn’t deny it, no matter how much he wanted to. He was getting sick."
