He murmured, his voice soft and playful, almost pleased- as if he'd just been reunited with a long lost friend, and was quite delighted about it. But his eyes were predatory, tracking every move Lin Ling made. "What is a little wolf like you doing at my humble abode?"

Lin Ling has always wanted to travel. He's never had much opportunity to, having survived on instant noodles for years now. But he follows a lot of travel blogs on the internet. It's how he originally found out about his goddess, Moon- she popped up on his feed after a while. He yearns to travel, to see beautiful sights and immerse himself in cultures so different from his own.
Nice invites his crush on a company-sponsored vacation. It was a random selection for a work opportunity, of course.
(Nice totally didn't break into the office in the dead of night to make sure Lin Ling's name would be the one drawn. He would never.)

When Nice first asked Lin Ling out, it was with a large bouquet of red roses. He got down on one knee, looked up at him with those piercing blue eyes, and asked in the sweetest, most nervous voice Lin Ling had ever heard from him if Lin Ling would be his. His cheeks had been a rosy red that stole the breath from Lin Ling's lungs. Of course he'd said yes. Nice was there for him when Moon died, even though he surely had to be grieving the loss of his late girlfriend himself. Nice was always kind, always there for him- he was perfect.
Dark red blood dripped down Nice's face, disgusting and dirty and contaminated-
But it's okay.
Nice can be strong.
Because it's all for him.

Lin Ling had never been the kind of man who went to see shows live- he much preferred to sit cross-legged on his couch, munching on his popcorn and scattering crumbs everywhere, even though he knew he'd have to clean them up later. He's also never really been all that into ballet. He respected it as an art form, but it had just never piqued his personal interest. The things he watched tended to be animated shows, or cheesy dramas where everyone overreacted to everything at all times and nobody had ever gotten within fifty feet of the word 'communication', or occasionally an hour-long deep dive on some random subject that flicked across his feed.
Which was why he wasn't quite sure how Wreck managed to talk him into going out to see a ballet performance.
Probably because Wreck had managed to nab two of the best tickets in the theater, and Lin Ling felt guilty refusing his best friend.

Bleeding. The Commoner was bleeding. His eyes darted across his body, tracking The Commoner's breath as it stuttered, each breath dragging its way past his lips to sink into his lungs. His hand pressed the deep gash in his side, thick crimson blood seeping into the dark, torn fabric, staining it nearly black in a starburst of color.
"I didn't… know anywhere else to- go." His voice was raw, jagged at the edges, like each word had to crawl its way out of his throat with sharp claws. His words slurred together, pushing against one another like they were competing for space in his mouth. The Commoner swayed on his feet, his chocolate brown eyes hazy and unfocused. He took a step backwards. Forwards. His eyes closed, before he suddenly slumped forward like a rock, his legs faltering for a moment before giving out from beneath him.
Nice couldn't help but reach out to catch him.
