    It brings to the fact that he was desperately fisting the rope of toma’s bridle while leading an animal near himself instead of riding it. Actually first three iles he did ride toma on pure adrenaline, too desperate to flee his captivity and get away from hell on earth, or it’s better to say on No Man’s Land. But it didn’t last long as the searing pain that pierced him to the core was too much to handle. When Vash prolonged his journey on foot the pain didn’t go away or become more bearable. He felt wetness between his thighs which was definitely blood and.. other fluids probably… The low of his stomach violently frobbed and hurt all the way down. Vash desperately wanted to get away as fast as possible and reach the first town he could, but riding toma was out of question with the state he was in. So he walked and walked and walked throughout the day and night.
    Is there a situation that can make Vash the Stampede contemplate his beliefs and understand his brother a tiny bit better? He's not so sure. When you can't make sense of your own feelings and emotions, when there's no place you can feel safe in, what's is the last tower of hope you have left in this world? Who would you turn to? Was the enemy an enemy all along?

    “Hey, don’t blame me for adding more of our mess.” Knives muses, pressing his lips on his forehead to which Vash preens at the attention—before deadpanning at his next words. “You’re the one who woke me up fucking yourself on my dick.”

    Vash flicks his twin’s forehead, tongue sticking out with all the maturity of a century-year-old plant. Knives only reacts with a monotone ‘ow’ and a hopelessly smitten expression on his face. My idiotic twin.“At least I’m not the one who didn’t bother pulling out, knowing very well our mornings always end up like this.” He points out the obvious, wiggling an accusing finger at him.

    Knives grins lazily, smug and boyish as if he knew the consequences the whole time. “Fair enough.” He looks so proud of it, too.

    Wow. This cocky asshole and his audacity.

    Evidently. Vash always needs his help. He needs him to make him realise the errors in his way. He needs him to properly terminate the human race so they can be free once and for all from their parasitic hold. He needs him to lead, as a big brother should, and to achieve his potential. He needs him because they are two separated halves who only require each other to survive.

    Yet the human suggests a different kind of help, one that forebodes an apocalyptic conclusion.

    "These markings of yours, his turned red."

    Tendrils of razor-sharp metal slither from Knives' back, as if reacting to his spikes of dread. Red, like entire rows of overworked Plants shrieking into the void. Red, like the fluids maintaining their sister's decapitated but alive body.

    The Punisher's voice falters for an instant before he adds, "I've never seen them like that before."

    (Or when Vash's markings become red, Knives has to intervene.)

    Knives has a second chance to mold his beloved twin into the “perfect” Plant, but a certain blue-haired zealot finds himself consumed with jealousy while Meryl and Wolfwood work to find a way to save Vash from his new life.

    The end of the world was marked by the destruction of July city. In the wake of the world's collapse, mankind was hunted by an inhuman force hellbent on creating a Utopia. But the key to Utopia had dissapeared, fleeing into the desert to return to the huamns. Fleeing right into Wolfwood's arms, reminding him of things that should have died in July with everyone else.

    OR. Knives gets his way, creating his perfect world for plants. In doing so, his alteration of Vash’s memories leaves him weak and confused. Knives is more than willing to reshape his brother, but it seems enough of Vash’s old life stuck. Before Knives can turn Vash into the perfect independent, Vash runs away into the remaining wasteland of Human life.
