“Did Jimmy convince you to do this?” Tango said, fighting to keep his voice even. The anger started to rise in him.
He got that they were concerned, but he was fine. He could handle this to make his friends proud and give them a break. Why couldn’t they understand that?
“No. He asked me to talk to you. I chose to call Impulse. I’m not convinced that you don’t have redstone poisoning, and Impulse knows the signs better than I do.”
“And so what if I do? It’s not affecting me! Let me decide what I can handle,” Tango’s voice started to rise.

“What even is a hydroadjuster?” Skizz snorted.
Tango sighed. “Vital piece of tech that we need to get water from the river outside the city into the city. Giant stone walls don’t make it easy.”
“Plus, it was ours,” Skizz peeked around the corner in front of them. “They stole it.”

The next morning, Joel woke up with a killer headache in Etho's bed and his memories a bit fuzzy around the edges. He groaned miserably and threw an arm over his face while shifting to lay on his back. The sheets and blankets were a mess from how he must have kicked them off of himself in his sleep, left foot trapped under where they had all bunched up at the foot of the bed and tangled around it. He didn't try to pull it free, distracted by the wave of nausea that was rocking through him.
It was in the middle of Joel silently planning how he would kill Martyn and Ren the next time he saw them that the door to the room opened.
“Morning Sleeping Beauty,” Etho's voice teased
