Summary
Grian was excited! He was running his first event world! It was going to be mostly hermits because he knew them and was comfortable with them, but a few of them had requested inviting friends, family, and spouses... well one spouse. Everyone knew about each other's disabilities for safety reasons and agreed that using them against each other for the games was unacceptable. Apparently even Pearl's brother was coming!

Gem and Grian grinned at each other. Straight ahead of them, lit up by the stark white glow of electricity, was a thin funnel reaching like a giant finger towards the ground.
Grian whooped again, grabbing the handle bar on the roof – the one Gem lovingly called the oh shit handle – as Gem slammed the pedal into the floorboard. The truck tires spun loosely against the dirt road for a second before gaining traction, sending the truck off like a bullet towards the thin tornado.

Summary
It was the perfect birthday present: four bands that Bdubs loves all playing the same day at a music festival just a two hour drive from them. How could Etho ever have passed up that opportunity? And the look on Bdubs' face when he showed him the tickets, you'd think Etho had hung all the stars in the sky just for him.
This is the part where Etho smiles and says he can't bring himself to regret condemning himself to torture because Bdubs' happiness is worth everything. Except he regrets everything, and profusely. Etho's not really the cheesy romantic type.

It wasnt known that Joel was a god. Specifically, he was one of the more powerful gods. There were a select few that knew about this fact, most of them not being on the Hermitcraft server. Grian was one of the only two hermits aware of Joel being a god, Gem being the other.
OR; joel makes a mistake with his godly powers and etho becomes unhealthily obsessed with joel.

Joel groans as he sits up in his bed, he feels like absolute blummin shit.
Something moves under the covers on the right side of the bed.
Fluffy white fox ears pop out from under the blanket, “You okay Joel?”
“Yeah.” Joel lies, his voice deep from sleep and gravely from something else.
A tickle builds in his chest and he coughs into his elbow loudly.
“You're going to wake the dead.” Bdubs groans, snuggling closer into Etho’s chest where he had been previously asleep.
“Bdubs.” Etho chastises, ruffling the sleepy glare hybrid’s hair, “Joel, you don’t sound good.”
“I’m fine Efho.” Joel reasons.

A bolt of what looks like black lightning slams into the dirt, scorching the area where they had just been standing.
Not the warmest of greetings, but not surprising either.
Gem bares her teeth, raising her wings and looking up towards the house. Pearl is perched on the railing, her sword leveled at a shadowy figure standing in front of the door. The whole world seems to freeze as the shadow’s head tilts. It lifts its hand slowly, pointing a finger at Pearl, and then draws it diagonally across its body. A rip appears and splits across his body. Dark, voidic tentacles erupt from the rip, grab hold of Pearl and yank her in. The rip closes behind her.
“Pearl!” Gem screams.
Or, the man of the forest did not want to be found.

Etho had come up next to her at this point, he squatted down so that he was more level with the man, “Mumbo makes most of my gear for me,” he said softly, “I know him so well I’d recognize his work anywhere.” he nodded to the bomb in his hand.
The man slowly moved forward, attempting to stand, and Cleo unthinkingly reached out to stabilize him. He froze and for a moment they thought that they had just ruined it, but then he leaned into her and accepted her help.
He collapsed against her the moment he was out of the rubble, shaking like a leaf as he buried his head in their shoulder.
“Etho, darling–” Cleo started quietly, only to be cut off by him saying, “I’ve already called them, they’re on their way.”
She smiled gratefully at him, “Thanks darling.”
Etho nodded once and sat down next to them, so that they were shoulder to shoulder, they waited there until Cleo could make out the soft yellow glow of headlights coming toward them.
