Chapter 13.5 of Accidentally in Love - what happens in the fade to black scene. Can be read as a stand-alone, but will make more sense as part of the wider story! Equally, this scene is not necessary for the main fic.
Thomas and James, ex-mortal enemies, co-workers and friends have finally admitted their real feelings to themselves, to their friends and (crucially) to each other.
Throughout their fake relationship the boundaries between real and fake became increasingly blurred. This is what happens when they finally cross the last remaining line and discover the full extent of their passionate compatibility.

The reaction is instantaneous. Everybody turns to look at him. The expressions range from confused to shocked to straight up disbelief. He does his best not to shrink down into his seat.
“...To a woman?” Julian chances, being the first to speak.
Captain James Hutchins (The Captain to his co-workers) has been working at Button House PLC for a year. The job is... well, it's okay. However, the office does not know about his husband, who has just been re-stationed for six months. When his co-workers find out about his husband Anthony's existence, they become curious.
The Captain is about to have lots of questions to answer.

Each other, I mean. You know, we go to events together and things, make them really jealous. Then, when we’ve got them where we want them, we stage a break-up! We’ll have them eating out of our hands in no time!”
James thought about it. Amazingly, Thomas was right. The beauty of the plan was that it was so simple. It would work in both of their favours. It would make both Isabelle and Anthony realise that they were incorrect. What could possibly go wrong?

Captain James William had a problem. Right now, had just revealed his innermost secrets (except one, but really everyone could infer this just by common sense), revealed his death, revealed everything about him and left him bare. And when everything just continued on as if nothing had happened.
However, the Captain really couldn’t care right now. He knows that everyone already knew how he died, and he was accepted by Fanny, someone whose opinion mattered greatly to him. She stuck with him to and fro, and was definitely a great companion to be with when dead. He never loved her in the romantic sense, no, maybe it was something to do with… actually, he just didn’t know. But now, he just didn’t care.
No, no—the problem was that someone had come to Button House, and this person brought on a less living, more special (to Captain James) someone.

Cordelia Edevane has always been an enigma to the other ghosts who haunted Button House, seeming to prefer the company of the living instead of the lingering spirits gathered over many centuries. Months later, the arrival of new homeowners Mike and Alison Cooper rid Cordelia of her previous worries. However, her housemates don't take too kindly to the married couple's plans to renovate Button House into a hotel, resulting in an unsuccessful haunting that ends with a near-death experience for Alison and her gaining the ability to perceive and converse with the dead. The ghosts, led by the Captain, plot to use Alison's new abilities to make the Coopers leave for good. But to their surprise, Cordelia is prepared to keep them from leaving, even if it means foiling the mischief of her fellow ghosts.
Meanwhile, an at-her-wits-end Alison may have found an unlikely ally keeping her sanity in check; Cordelia might be the only ghost of Button House she can just about tolerate.
