“Nah, we’re way cooler than Kokiri.” Wind recovers first, and he moves to the front of the group and kneels down with a bright grin. “I’m Wind, what’s your name?”
Time - he’s smaller than Four, dear Hylia he’s so little - blinks at him, then ducks his head a bit. Hyrule notices that he’s holding a fistful of the fabric of his tunic, like Hyrule does when he gets nervous. “… Link.”

When Link started his adventure he had not been worried about his soul mates, rarely had he even taken off his shirt to reveal his sleeves. He had a world to save and had no time to worry about people he had yet to meet.
But one night as Link settled down to sleep, he looked down at his left forearm. His heart dropped.
On his arm, as he had always known, there were eight intricate photos but one, Flower as he had gone to call that soulmate, was grayed. To his left, Hyrule was healing a scar on Legend’s arm. Further along the campfire, Wild was scrolling through his Sheikah Slate, combing over his inventory, while Wind peered over his shoulder every so often, appearing bored. Across from him, Warriors and Four were mending tunics and wiping down armor of the sickly black blood. Sky looked about ready to fall asleep, even though stars were only just beginning to appear above them. And to his right, Twilight stared absently into the fire, quietly humming a tune that Time didn’t recognize but knew his descendant was particularly fond of.
Now there was an idea.
Time reached into the small drawstring pouch he always kept at his side and pulled out an ocarina, barely able to contain himself. “Everyone’s being awfully quiet; why not we play some music?”
He received a couple of confused stares. But for the others, the response was immediate. A ripple passed through the gathered heroes as they reached for their instruments.OR
The Chain gathers around for an evening of sharing instruments and songs with Time. And Wild doesn't know what to make of it.

And right now, Wind was seething in anger. It wasn’t fair.
And he was getting tired of it.
He was tired of being spoken about behind his own back, and laughed at as though he wasn’t the very star of it. Acting as though he had no feelings or thoughts of it either, and this wasn’t his life that they were poking fun at.
He’s glad he ended up here, because it means that he fought for himself. And Wind would do it again.
