No aid to the Beorings, at the last. No true friend to you.” There, in the darkness; the low sound, the wolf’s breath. “Only the last bond is left, that keeps me in my skin…”

    “And the manacles stapling you to the wall,” Andreth says, dry, and the walls of Tol-in-Gaurhoth vanish. Finrod is left blinking, hard, against the sudden accession of light.

    “Actually,” he says, “only one is attached to the wall.”
