As soon as Daulton exits the lobby of the building, he breaks into a run. There are still puddles on the ground even though the rain has stopped, but the left fielder hardly notices, as he runs without really paying attention to where he is going. He ends up running all the way to the Victory Silos. It’s there, standing in their shadow, that Daulton stops to catch his breath. He looks out across the harbour and is struck by a sudden thought.
Matt’s not going to take the offer.
