“I still don’t understand why you needed to go all the way back there just for this case. You have not been back there since you were 15,” Cassandra grimaced. Caitlyn knew she meant well but sometimes she just had a way with words.
Caitlyn pinched the bridge of her nose, “I’ve told you, I’ve got a lead on a case. I need to see if it’s tangible enough to be used as evidence.”
“Fine, fine. I’ll leave you to it,” she sighed, knowing a lost battle when she sees one.
There were a few beats of silence, with Caitlyn’s eyes roaming around the old, beaten down bar that had a blinking sign of ‘Wolf’s Cup’.
She remembers it used to be named ‘Red Goblet’.
14 years ago. So much has changed and yet, not at all. The old phone booth was now boarded up with planks, the backdoor now remaining open to be an al-fresco seating for the bar. Small towns like Aurma never really got developed entirely, after all. That she’s expected. Throughout the entirety of their friendship, no balls have always been their sort of call to arms. A joke regarding the fact that when Jinx would fully transition, she wouldn't have any balls, a little inside joke of theirs.
