Summary
It has been two hundred and fifty days since Wei Wuxian died.
Wei Wuxian barely survives being thrown into the burial mounds .
But Wei Wuxian does not survive the burial mounds.
The man that drags himself from that barren dead wasteland can not, in any sense of the term, be called "alive."
But even dead Wei Wuxian cannot rest, cannot leave Jiang Cheng to fight and die alone.
Cannot let his sacrifice and his death be a waste.All Wei Wuxian has to do is make it through the the war without anyone else realizing what he has become.
Specifically without Jiang Cheng or Lan Wangji realizing what he has become.
Once the war is over he can put himself to rest knowing that the people he cares about are safe.
Once the war is over he can die for good.Easier said then done in a in a body that is actively rotting before his eyes, and with a Shidi who seems bound bet and determined to keep him at his side no mater the cost.
