    Caitlyn breathes in- really breathes in, inhales the suffocating, sweltering smoke of the Undercity, where she knows that all of her secrets have swept away over the years. Powder had been so insistent on following them, still is, but the nervousness radiating off her doesn't cease. They can't stop now, not when all the answers she's ever wanted are right here.

    "Cait." Vi's voice calls, bringing her out of the depths of her own mind. "We should go."

    And Caitlyn, who has never been able to deny Vi a thing, nods wordlessly, watching the glistening key to the unlocked, unread pages of a life she lived a million years ago fall as Vi takes her hand, gently pressing her lips to Caitlyn's palm.

    Her face burns, almost as intensely as her heart aches. She tries not to read into it, this wonderful, dangerous thing her and Vi have going, but the warm smile grazing her fingertips make it difficult.

    Pow-Pow, a nickname she no longer associated with herself.

    Powder was weak and imperfect. Jinx was perfect.

    She was so perfect, she had travelled back in time, gaining a chance to save her dad. To save Silco and give Zaun it's freedom once again.

He knows he doesn’t have a body that can technically experience physical sensation, but Jayce feels…Light. Warm. Held. He has no eyes to scan his surroundings, no ears to pick up clues that might tell him where he is, no hands to reach out and feel for anything, anyone that might be near him. But he knows he’s not alone. Something else is here, and it’s incorporeal just like he is. And yet, somehow, despite it all, it’s cradling him. If he had a mouth to sigh with, he would.

    This is everything. We’ll stay like this forever, he thinks, though who “we” is he doesn’t know.

    He’s not sure how much time passes like this. Time doesn’t seem to matter here, wherever here is. But it changes. The shift is slow and sudden all at once, a flash of coldness splintering through that warm, contented feeling. The loss of something. He’s alone again. If he had arms to reach out with, he would. He would thrash and scramble and grasp desperately to bring that thing, whatever it was, back to him. He doesn’t have a heart, but he feels it ache anyway.

    Grayson looked to Vi then back to Caitlyn. "Both of you stay here." She ordered. "I'll be back as soon as I can." She grabbed her sheriff's hat, putting it on her head and paused at the door. "Harknor is in charge if you need anything." She stepped out not waiting for a reply. She shut the door, leaving the two girls alone in the office. Vi sat down hard on the floor, unable to keep standing any longer from the shock. Caitlyn walked over to the message left on the desktop. She picked it up to read as Vi was shaking her head.

    Caitlyn let out a soft "Oh" after reading the message. "Oh no." She said shaking. Vi turned to her seeing her look of shock. "This is very bad, isn't it?" She asked.

    "You have no idea."

    Vi surrendered herself to the Enforcers. However, it turned out she couldn't prevent the ultimate clash. The undercity attacks Piltover. Vi has to survive a long, hard week within Piltover during the chaos of a second uprising. Not only must she survive, she has to protect a Piltie as well.
    (A Canon Divergent story with the questions of: What if Vi did turn herself in? What would the story of Arcane look like from there?)

    After mentioning that she wants to be an Enforcer over dinner, Caitlyn is transferred from the Junior Academy to Zaun's only school to discourage her from choosing that path. During her first day, a girl named Vi begrudgingly helps Caitlyn and allows her to sit with her and her siblings, and Caitlyn develops an interest in being their friend (and... maybe (definitely) also develops a tiny (massive) crush on Vi). Despite their reservations, they accept her into their little group, and she fights to be a full part of the crew, through both high school and heists.

    (Basically, Vi, Mylo, Claggor, Powder, and Caitlyn at the age they were in S1: Act 1 in high school in Zaun, featuring Caitlyn and Vi having an adorable teenage romance, Vander's kids trying to make Caitlyn into an anti-establishment delinquent (it mostly works), Vander ending up with another kid constantly hanging out in his basement, and the six of them (including Ekko) being chaotic teenagers/kids trying to find their way among a steampunk borderline-dystopia, high school, and their constant shenanigans that happen as a result of them all being chaotic little gremlins plus terminal illness and class war.)
