Jack’s entire body lit on fire, because god fucking damnit it was Gabriel. His Gabriel. Gabe.
Blood started rushing wildly through his entire body, so intensely he could practically feel his entire being shaking from it. His soul started singing, he felt like he was flying and falling at the same time.
It’s him.
He was so sure he had lost him. He had fought for him all these months, done terrible things in his name, desperately trying to atone for and process what happened to them.
But.. he was right there. All this time he was still just there.
Or: Jack goes back to Switzerland to find out what really happened during the explosion. It turns out the infamous explosion wasn’t anybody’s fault, at least no one from Overwatch’s. As fate would have it, the mysterious assassin Reaper is also there looking for answers.

He headed down the hall, through the base to the Med Bay.

He paused in the doorway.
Angela, younger and less haggard than he remembered her, flitted from one side of the infirmary to the other, heels clicking on the tile floor as she rearranged her supplies and sorted the ward back out into a clean, orderly grid of beds and equipment.
He stayed there for a long moment, watching her work.
He wondered what, exactly, she was doing here already at 0400. Shouldn’t she be sleeping?
The Angela he knew could be woken swiftly in the event of an emergency, but she was rarely in her office before 0800 if she could avoid it.

Gabriel runs – or should he say flies – at his highest speed, conjuring all of his magic powers to keep them going. By his side, a shiny floating disk soars through the air with a passed-out Jack and a wounded wolf-dog on top of it, keeping the same speed as the wizard. Ancient runes blink on top of Jack’s chest, and Gabriel thanks all of the gods for Baptiste’s patience when showing Gabe how to use it.
For they’re possibly the only things keeping Jack alive.
