Summary
As of April 2016, The database that stores works on A03 does not allow emoji. If you try to add an emoji it will end your story there. Any words after the emoji? Poof. Gone. This is a known, if poorly advertised, issue with the archive.
There are some workarounds; you can find them in: How to Make iOS Text messages on A03. But here? Here is for ALL THE EMOJI*.

*Does not contain the 2016 Unicode release. You'll have to come up with the code for pickle yourselves.

Summary
There are some great quick-and-dirty guides to HTML on A03. This is not one of them - it is a comprehensive guide
It's now 2025, a decade later. A03 supports some new HTML and and we're all walking around reading fic on supercomputers that fit in a jean pocket. It was time update this and take a crack at finishing it. (Links and Images are in, the new Audio and Video tags are not.)
The previous three chapters have been divided into smaller concepts. Each tag continues to have - at a minimum - a link to the w3schools page about it (so you can learn more), a code example, and the result of the code example. Most tags have their attributes, things like [src] or [title], listed and examples of how using the attributes modify the tags.
There's a chapter on Bad Ideas, including how some of the archive's default CSS is available to you to format your work (users can't turn that off by hiding a workskin!)
Oh. And I added a bunny army. You could learn how to add one too.

Hello dear reader! This work is not a fic, but rather intended as a helpful guide to whomever may benefit.
As self published amateur writers with no professional editors (and often none at all!), it’s no surprise to anyone that fanfiction is often prone to spelling and grammar mistakes. I’ve seen them, you’ve seen them, we’ve all seen them in our journeys across the pages of AO3, Fanfic.net, LiveJournal, or the scrap paper in the bottom of your bag.
Dear reader, the author does not wish to shame or reprimand anyone who’s made these mistakes, why, the author themselves has made them many a time! Instead view this as a helping hand for when you require it. Sometimes all we need is a cheat sheet for us to refer back to.
Which is what this work aims to be! A cheat sheet, a guide, a helping hand covering a variety of things author (and friends!) have noticed when reading fanfic. Use this as a handy dandy resource to refer back to in times of need.

Summary
The first part of the series is a 2k word study guide which explains a lot about how Steve (and Bucky, and Howard) would have viewed what we call homosexuality. I even include a glossary and references. Go me.
The first story (which is the second part of the series) explores how he gets involved with the queer culture of the 1930s, how that affects his relationship with Bucky, and what it means when he becomes involved with Howard Stark. It addresses Steve's self-perceptions about his own body and sexuality in an era that was both highly restrictive of gender roles and far more open about sexuality than we realize.
Status of Sins of the Father:
The second story (which is the third part of the series) occurs after Steve is pulled from the ice, and how he adapts to vastly different world. It is definitely a multi-shipper fic, with both Steve/Tony/Pepper AND Steve/Winter Soldier. It's still far from complete because my original draft and timeline got derailed when the Winter Soldier forced his way into the plot. It's ongoing and unfinished, so right now you should treat this as a full-on WIP.- Words:

This is made to be a quick look companion of the code in ao3 to see all the info you need to know to make the best decision for the formatting of your fanfic!
This is not made for beginners since it may be a little intimidating to see this considering there is no explanation on how code works and stuff like that. You just need the most basic understanding of HTML and how the Limited HTML works on ao3 for the best reading experience.
