Just three minutes left on the oven until our frozen dinners were done, I had to lean against the kitchen counter while my vision began to darken. Shit, shit, not now. Not with Connor here. Everything began to close in, the darkness, the dizziness, everything. Holding as much of my weight against the counter that I could, I desperately tried to keep my balance.
Even if I tried to, I wouldn’t have been able to see Connor even if I looked up, “you okay, Ev?” I would have nodded if I my head did not feel like it was going to fall off my shoulders. This can’t happen now, not with him here. I need to keep standing, I can’t sit down. He’ll know something’s wrong, I can’t burden him even more.
I tried to move my hand towards the cabinet next to me, but my movements were seconds behind my thoughts. Sluggishly opening the door, I grabbed a glass from inside, mumbling something like, “I need water.” I remember grabbing the green glass, I remember it’s coolness against my too warm skin, but then everything’s dark.

It was signed "Mistle". After the note appeared, those two people somehow ended up under a mistletoe plant. No one knew how.

Though my breathing was still too quick to really be useful I looked around the unfamiliar room. The red blankets were still on the floor from when I threw them off of me upon waking up in this tiny room. My first thought was that I was kidnapped, but that doesn’t make any sense. I remember going to bed last night in the apartment, I didn’t even go out Spider-Manning, I had too much homework. Mr. Stark keeps telling me I can’t choose patrolling over school anymore.
Mr. Stark! I have to call him! I have to ask him to come get me.
No, no he’ll think I’m crazy. He’ll think I’m insane and then he’ll take the suit away again and he’ll tell May and then she’ll get so worried. I’ve been getting better! The nightmares aren’t as frequent, I’ve finally started to get better, I can’t ruin it.
But I’m alone. I’m alone in someone else’s body.
That thought, even to me, still sounds insane.

And, thankfully, he didn’t hit Evan, so Evan doesn’t feel like he needs to chase after Connor, but then again: he has Evan’s letter. And that letter is more personal than it usually would be and now Connor Murphy has it and it directly talks about Zoe Murphy and if Connor is as bad as everyone says he is, it will be plastered all over social media tomorrow, if not printed out and hung in the hallways for everyone to see and laugh at.
Evan makes a decision.
He chases after Connor.
