Or, it could fuck him up with all of the curses, but it's not like he's in this life because it's safe.
Turns out, the price is bottomless, frantic hunger, for just about anything he can get his hands on. Even when his stomach's in agony from how stuffed it is, even when it means he has to expand his definition of "edible meat".
But hey, he did get magic out of it, right?
