Summary
Just when Mo Yelin thought he had obtained even a semblance of happiness — it gets ripped away in an instant. Disowned and cast away at the worst possible time, he’s forced to break out from the cushioned life of a young master to a world full of uncertainty and hidden troubles.
Gu Chenyu has just graduated high school, but his struggles are far from over. He’s torn between choosing his own path instead of the one which has been laid for him. As if that weren’t enough, his whole world is shaken when his closest friend passes away from a sudden illness.
One summer night, at a club, the two cross paths in an unfortunate altercation.
This is a story of beginnings and endings with periods of separations – with past, future and everything in between all unfolding at the same time.
Mo Yelin and Gu Chenyu are side characters from The Distant End of the Shore, (in which they are currently 24 and 26) but you don’t need to be familiar with that story to understand this one.

That idea of the dicastery wasn’t new. The late Holy Father came with it, but even he deemed it too much. Too radical. It would cause too much backlash and problems.
Thomas had to ask. To be sure he understood it, “We’re talking about an in-depth investigation of corruption through the whole church, right?”*
