Summary
The chosen demi-gods of The Great Prophesy believed that everything is done. Finished. And absolutely no more quests. They believed that they can finally live a peaceful and normal life after the war between Gaea and her forces. But little did they know, there is still more mysteries to come.
Here is Octavia Frail. Her whole life she has been thinking that she was different. People usually call her: unusual, freak, nerd, outcast... and the list goes on. She also thinks that she's missing something. There was always an empty part of her that she felt. And she wanted to fill that part. Soon, she'll finally find out who she actually is.

List of House, M.D. Rec Lists: 2005 to present (the Rec List List!) by resourceress7
Fandoms: House M.D.
15 Jan 2021
Tags
Summary
This is a collection of all the House, M.D. fanfic & fanwork rec lists I have found. It's inclusive of any and all pairings, genres, tropes, and so on. Some of the rec lists here are thematically organized, or include descriptions or reviews of each work, which may help you find something that piques your interest, so I've noted that below.
Also included below is a list of fan community sites where you can dive into a House time capsule to find old favorites, new-to-you stories, and post fic-finding queries.
This project began with asking a fic-finder community for help finding more recent rec lists, and has expanded ever since. Some visitors were inspired to publish their own rec lists (and you can, too!). Please post links or corrections in the comments - it's never too late to help fans find recommended works!
Equally importantly, it's never too late to let authors and creators know you read/view their work! I've included some resources to help you do that.
(January 2021: Number of rec lists has been GREATLY expanded, and I've added more in the resource sections. This project has come a long way since 2013!)

Dimensional rifts are not uncommon in Ebott's Wake. In fact they happen often enough that they are included in both the weather and traffic reports on the local radio station. Bewildered travelers from other worlds drop in often enough that there are helpful signs and waystations all over the town and just outside of it. Like the appearance of monsters and the rediscovery of magic, the fantastic has become mundane.
Having said all that, a tiny bitey skeleton monster showing up in a mechanic's garage is still noteworthy.

These differences between British and American terminology and culture below are all ones I have seen in Sherlock fic or that are likely to come up in Sherlock fic. It is not exhaustive and I know that I will think of or spot at least 10 more as soon as I post this, but it is a start. If you have read fic set in America written by a Brit you will know that these things jar and spoil the flow quite a lot, so here you go.

Sources and Research Advice for the 00Q Method Ficcer by notbeloved07
Fandoms: Original Work
07 May 2013
Tags
Summary
I am discontinuing writing 00Q, because I'm not really feeling this fandom. However, I am a method ficcer, meaning I put a lot of effort into getting into my characters' heads when I'm writing them, and therefore do a lot of research for ficcing. I think some of what I learned might also be helpful for other writers in 00Q, so I decided to put them all in a post.
Some (but not all) topics covered here are: intercepting mobile calls, getting on secured wifi, lock picking, fighting, explosives, manipulating the the power grid, code injections, biometric security, and where to learn about computer security in general.

Series 3 timeline is up, and is my attempt to pull together, from John's blog posts, the episodes and a good deal of guess work, just when everything is supposed to have happened. I have already amended it thanks to comments I've received and I will continue to add to it and amend it as new things come to light from rewatching and other people's fabulous insights.
I was intending to add TAB and Series 4 to this but there is so little obvious evidence that it would a lot of work and end up mostly be my guesses rather than anything more concrete anyway. Since I was left both unimpressed and uninspired by Series 4 I have decided not to spend my time on it. If anyone else wants to use this as a jumping off point for their own Series 4 timeline, please be my guest!

My take on John Watson's military career from Selection through to Discharge. Currently does not look at his life thereafter.
This is not by any means the only solution, it's simply the one that best fits with what we see on screen and with my own experiences. As ever, when writing fiction, the characters are king and the rules are more guidelines than actual rules...

Violins are stupidly complicated to play well. That’s probably why Sherlock likes them--well, that and because he can annoy the heck out of Mycroft by playing deliberately badly. Luckily, Sherlock fandom, you do not actually have to learn to play the violin! This guide will help you convince your readers that Sherlock knows how to play the violin without requiring you to endure years of violin teachers shouting at you for tiny details of your technique. ("Stop avoiding the frog! Bow parallel to the bridge!")
