“You were quiet this weekend,” Dani said casually, sipping his coffee, not looking at him. “Too busy for your poor friends, huh?”
Jamie tried not to flinch. “Yeah, erm. Told you. I met someone at the club. Just… didn’t wanna leave that bubble, y’know?”
He kept his eyes on the table, irrationally afraid that Dani would somehow be able to read it off his face, that he’d take one look at Jamie and know.
He should've just said it. Should’ve just mentioned it outright in the car, like, "Hey, by the way, remember that girl I went home with? Yeah, it was Keeley."
He couldn't though. Even if Dani didn’t outright say it was a bad idea to do this again, Jamie’d see it in his face, and he couldn't stand that.
—Jamie and Keeley have a summer fling. It's fine. It doesn't work out. There's no consequences.

He bent over the sink then, not paying attention to Roy’s spluttered reply just as Jamie walked in, his hair still wet and messy, in low-slung trackies that showed off the absurd cut of his hipbones, a towel slung around his shoulders and his eyes immediately fastened on Gil.
“Now, there’s a sight for sore eyes,” he hummed, leaning his shoulder against the doorway. “You been working on your squats, Roy-o?”
Two things happened simultaneously.
Gil popped back up, turning to look at Jamie with wide eyes, and Roy shattered the glass he’d been holding.
—The RoyJamie fic where Roy has an identical cousin, who then meets Jamie. It goes about as well as you'd expect.

—A rewrite of season one, where Keeley (and Roy, eventually) find out about Amsterdam much earlier. OT3 endgame, plenty of RoyJamie freak4freak, but they're burning slow, babes, I'm warning you.

Roy clenched his jaw and shook his head. “I don’t hate you,” he finally managed, truthfully. “I fucking don’t, Tartt—Jamie. You just fucking—” He reached out and curled his fingers around the back of Jamie’s neck, squeezing.
“I—” Roy’s voice, embarrassingly, gave out, and he growled, taking a deep breath before he continued, “You’ve got the fucking potential to be one of the fucking best players in the League, Tartt, and I know you’ve got the work ethic too.”He shook Jamie once, and added, “Stop making yourself fucking smaller. Be a fucking prick on the pitch. Learn to fucking read the situation. You’re good at this shit—I know you are.”
Jamie managed a tiny, quivering grin. “Careful mate. Someone ‘ears you, they might think you like me.”
Roy scoffed. “No fucking chance of that.”
—Roy doesn't like to think he's taking advantage of Jamie. He's making him better, stronger, faster, a better player, and now that he's got the fucking muppet actually behaving for him, he'll be damned if he lets him go.
