I didn’t ask for her life, her body, or her war. One second I was in a hospital bed in my world — the next, I was bleeding out in hers.
Now I’m pretending to be someone I’m not, bonded to dragons I never deserved, and falling for a man who has no idea I’m not the girl he thinks I am. I’ve tried to stay quiet, tried to survive, tried not to break the future I remember.
But the war’s coming faster than it should. People are dying who weren’t supposed to. And I’m running out of time to stay hidden — or to stop what’s coming.
Because I know how the story ends.

Summary
Brown hair in uneven pigtails. Pale skin, almost too pale, a softness to her features that belonged to someone who had not yet learned the weight of the world. She was standing at the edge of Violet’s crib, staring down at her with an intensity that Violet couldn’t quite place. It was strange. People usually smiled when they looked at babies, cooed, and made a show of how precious they were. But this girl didn’t smile. She didn’t coo. She just stared.
Violet blinked, her little lashes fluttering like a trapped bird. She didn’t know why, but something low in her stomach curled, a slow, insistent twist.
The name the girl spoke was a word that felt as foreign as it was familiar.“Hi,” she said after a long pause, her voice hesitant but curious. “I’m Petunia.”
Violet's heart beat louder, faster. Her mind recoiled, but there was no way to make sense of it. She didn’t know this child. She couldn’t place her, couldn’t name her, couldn’t even remember ever seeing her before—but the name Petunia... it didn’t belong here. It didn’t belong to this house, to this life, to this strange body.
Yet it felt so familiar.

While exploring the attic (as one does), she finds an old class photo labeled “Wexbridge School for Boys – 1917.”
Two stand out to her: one with a rakish grin and the other with wild, windswept hair that looks like he's trying very hard to not laugh.
That night, she dreams about one.
Just a fluke, probably. Except it happens again. And again. Same boy. Same dream. Same feeling that she’s not imagining this.
They talk. They argue. They wander strange places that don’t exist in either of their worlds. She’s from 2004. He’s from 1916. And neither of them has any idea what’s going on.
OR Lenore has always had weird dreams, but this one takes the fucking cake and eats it too.

Summary

Okay I honestly think that everyone knows the pretty cliché story of a girl who usually has a very bad life landing in Middle-Earth, becomes the hero of the day by using her knowledge for good and eventually lives happily ever after with a handsome guy, whose name usually starts with "L" and ends with "egolas," right?
Well, to be completely honest with you, my life was pretty nice. I had a job, loving sisters, friends by the dozen. I really couldn't complain until an accident suddenly sends me to another world, but not Middle-Earth. No, it sends me to be reborn as an elf in Valinor. As in pre-first age Valinor with Fëanor and Morgoth and all that shit.
With everything that's on the horizon and knowing I can't stop all of it, I also know I can't wish to be the hero of the day or even to live happily ever after as that's just not possible, so I decide to aim for a slightly more realistic goal: mess up as many of Morgoth's plans as possible
