Summary
In 2022, Hen and Karen made a bet. By 2024, that bet had gotten somewhat out of control. Now it’s 2025, Bobby is dead, Buck is apartment hunting, and Eddie finds a list of names and dates in Hen’s locker.
Oh, and there's a backup on the 10. Again.

Or: betting on when your friends will realize they're in love is a lot less funny when one of them already knows.

Summary
Eddie presses his mouth to soft messy curls, inhales the eucalyptus and mint conditioner. Buck is sprawled around him, holding him, his body weight welcome and grounding. He’s been a fixture on Eddie’s path since that first shift, an unchanging constant always nipping at his heels. Maybe they were always gonna end up here.
Three nights after Eddie moves back to LA for good, Buck sleepwalks into his bed.
(grief, change, and homecomings.)

Summary
“Buck, I told you, there’s no rush. You being here for however long you need is not a problem.”
Buck rubs at his brow to do something with his hands, Eddie’s eyes tracking his every move like a hawk. “I know that, Eddie. I heard you.”
“Did you?” Eddie asks. “Hear me?”
Eddie comes back home. Buck runs away.

Summary
“Come on, you’re telling me you wouldn’t consider sneaking into a storage closet with me?”
“Obviously, I would!” Eddie was whisper-yelling now, and Buck wasn’t sure exactly what point he was trying to make, but he was enjoying every second of this. “But one of us is going to have to have restraint and it has to be the—the one with the most experience.”
Buck felt his mouth drop open in delight. “Eddie,” he admonished. “Are you calling me a whore?”
“No!” said Eddie, looking increasingly flustered. “I just mean—clearly you have the power to do—” he gestured at Buck, “that, so you have the—the responsibility to, like, use it. Responsibly.”
“Did you just quote Spiderman?”
Eddie propped his elbows on the table and dropped his head into his hands, groaning dramatically. “I’m going to die. The first date, and I’m going to die.”
“Been there, wouldn’t recommend it.”

Summary
“God, Dad. No.” He huffed in displeasure. “I'm not— It's Buck, Dad.”
Eddie barely ever heard that name anymore, except for an echo in his own head, and he went still, looking down at his phone and then replacing it by his ear.
“What— what about him?” Eddie asked, hoping he sounded less thrown off guard than he felt. Hoping he sounded less breathless through the phone than he did to his own ears.
“I got, um, an invite. To his wedding.”
