Summary
Alexandria could never fathom how her father came up with the idea that getting rid of her would be the solution to their current problems. Grinning devilishly as he placed the imperial edict on her shaking hands, she could only bow her head and accept the emperor's decree before marching away from everything she had known for the past 23 years of her life.
Not that she care. If anything, the relief flooding her chest as she walked away from her father's throne room is a strong indication of how she longed for freedom from his oppressive gaze.
Reaching for the familiar envelope tucked in her chest pocket, she finally decided to make the first move– one of many before, during, and after her departure. All she needed then is a safe haven far away from the emperor's reach.

Summary
“Tempt you, huh…?” Kafka repeats the last part of her sentence, her voice dropping into a sensual drawl Himeko has never heard before. Something mysterious flashes through her smile, dangerous, and yet Himeko doesn’t see the warning signs while Kafka hums.
“What makes you say that?”
“The way you speak to me. It’s not normal, and you know it.”
She notices her body going still for a second before Kafka is chuckling at her words, as if what she just saw was a part of her imagination. “You got me there.”
