Summary
James had been imagining himself wearing the collar so much he might as well have been wearing it the entire time. Except, the Collar did not actually work the way he thought it did.
A peek into James’s thoughts after the Collar clicked close, and a much needed conversation between the boys.
Or
My take on how the Collar works, because the Dark Heir cliffhanger destroyed me.

Summary
Basically, if they were captured by Sinclair after the others realized Will was Sarcean (is that possible? idk and idc) and so they're there when Sinclair puts the Collar on James:
“The collar.” Sinclair said expectantly, as if he imagined that James would just hand it over when he ordered. He has it with him, though, Will remembered. If they search him-
There was a clinking sound, the sound of metal hitting stone. Will felt his breath stop as the collar fell from James’ jacket. It had seemed secure there before; there was no explanation for it’s suddenly falling-
Magical objects had desires of their own, though. Will remembered James asking him to put the collar around his neck, the way he’d only come back to his senses later. Remembered that he himself hadn’t fully been in control, had the collar primed to snap around James’ throat before he even realised what he was doing.
The collar rolled, rolled, echoed in the expanse of the chamber. It came to a stop at Sinclair’s feet.
(Also the title is literally just because I had no clue what to name it and I cannot promise it actually fits the fic)

Summary
Sinclair was already opening the collar around James's neck, all that was missing was the click to make it final. One of the men pulled James's head up by his hair, but James—he no longer looked afraid. Instead, he met Sinclair's gaze with a steady look, as if saying, 'do it then, get it over with'. He had accepted his fate long ago, Will realized, it had always been inevitable.

What if Will hadn't lost James to the collar (yet)?

After the public revelation of Prince Damianos' identity, Laurent grapples with what he wants, and what he wants to endure.
“Please,” Laurent heard himself say. “Don’t pretend you can chide me for my lack of nobility, when yours didn't save you from fucking me twice. Even when you were sure I didn’t know who you were.”

“This slave is a gift from the Regent of Vere
to Prince
Damianos.”A reverse AU exploring how just a single canon divergence – where Laurent is forced into slavery instead of being the prince – could set off a chain reaction that radically transforms the original narrative.

however the fic cover is my own. -
Summary
What if Damen never killed Auguste? What if he had the chance to court Laurent properly, with Auguste still alive and very much in the picture?
It's the AU Damen imagined in King's Rising!!! Featuring young everybody--- Damen is 19, Laurent is 15, Auguste is 28, Nikandros is 22.
Lots of fluff and angst and romance and spice and drama and intrigue and all that good stuff.
P.S. If you are a maker of art and ever feel so inclined to make an art of any scene in this series, I would die in raptures.

OR
"“I’m not weak.” The reply with bitten out as though it was an instinct. Hands very gentle and very tender at his waist, Damen shifted them back so he could lean comfortably against that beautifully intricate head board.
“I never said that you were. Of course you aren’t. After all you have survived, how could you be?” Still Laurent’s pale brow furrowed and his eyes shook as his throat bobbed. “But you are human. And you deserve love… tenderness. Care. Okay? So just… let me. Let me…”"

“I have no idea what to do,” he said, though the words came out oddly resolute. “But there is a man who taught me that sometimes it's better if things are simple.”
Laurent wakes up in another time, facing a daunting task: how to ensure his improbable happiness again.
To Damen, none of this is known.
My entry for the amazing Captive Prince Anthology.

Summary
Antinous wasn’t a good person. He knew that. He never considered himself a righteous or moral person. He was selfish, barbaric, and perhaps even vain. He knew. But in a man eats man world, could anyone truly blame him?
He wasn't a good person. But perhaps he’d have to become one. Simply for the sake of staying alive.
See, recently, the Gods have been sending him dreams. Dreams of blood dripping onto castle floors from freshly lopped off heads rolling on the tiles. Dreams of Ithaca’s old King staring at him from afar, and angry red eyes shifting across the room, searching for his next prey. Dreams of a tightly wound bow, one that only Odysseus could wield, lodging a sharp arrow into his throat. Dreams like that.
Also, on an unrelated note, why the hell was everyone randomly breaking out into song?

Summary
“You’re late,” Laurent frostily pronounced, when the latecomer had come to a standstill at the sight of him. “Fifteen minutes,” he continued, glancing at his watch, and the man in the doorway shook himself and smiled helplessly.
“Sorry,” said a smoky, deep voice, curling and settling into his stomach. The man’s gaze felt warm, as it drifted down and back up. There was a hint of obstinance in his look, softened with a startlingly flirtatious gleam.
“...sir,” the honeyed voice punctuated, after an uncomfortable moment.
A millenium ago, Vere and Akielos were enemies. Two crown princes, destined to be foes, had instead forged an unprecedented and monumental alliance. Their story, recounted in the poem The Lauread, incited the popular uprisings that birthed the Artesian Union.
This semester, Laurent D'Vert is determined to:
-endure as the TA for a class on this epic,
-figure out his PhD proposal (or else),
-resist his attraction to the horribly handsome Akielon in his class, and
-discover just why he's been getting such vivid dreams of someone else's memories.(A college AU reincarnation fic with inspiration from Achilles and Patroclus)

Summary
It has been—actually, Laurent isn’t sure how long it’s been, when the slave is brought back at last. The poison’s rotting sweetness has stretched the time to a nightmarish attenuation. As if there’s never been anything else but this interminable night. The council hall is drawn in oppressive shadows, the throne looming like a mountain. His uncle sits implacable as granite, the weary council wavering like reeds in a storm, swayed this way and that.
Like all their battles, it is bitter-fought and doomed from the start.
This is what it means to oppose the Regent.

Summary
“I’m so proud of you, Laurent,” Damen murmured as his fingers began untying the laces on Laurent’s back. He could see that Laurent was untying the laces on his forearms. “You’re going to be the greatest King of Vere. And Akielos, of course.” Damen leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to Laurent’s nape, his lips skimming over the golden hair there.
“I don’t want to have sex tonight.”
Damen’s fingers stilled in the laces. He looked up to catch Laurent’s reflection in the mirror but Laurent’s eyes were stubbornly fixed to his own forearms. Laurent’s voice was clipped, something that Damen was slowly growing unused to.The day of Laurent's coronation was meant to be joyous. When he knelt as a Prince and rose as a King, something changed inside him. Damen just wanted to be let in to find out what happened.

Summary
“My cousin told me,” said Alexon, proudly, “he met a man who had once been a famous gladiator from Isthima. He lasted only minutes in the arena with Damianos. But afterwards Damianos had him in his chambers for six hours.”
“Seven hours,” said Lamen, frowning slightly.
— C.S. Pacat, The Adventures of Charls, the Veretian Cloth Merchant
This is (in part) the story of Arkas, a once famous gladiator from Isthima, and his friend, Basia, a once famous gladiator from Vask. At an inn in Patras they meet two sheep farmers: one a sizable man, the other has yellow hair and keen blue eyes. Perhaps they drink too much double-strength wine. Perhaps they tell too many tales.
It is also (in part) the story of King Laurent of Vere and King Damianos of Akielos. At an inn in Patras, at a table with two gladiators, King Laurent learns of more than just his husband’s sexual prowess.

He says yes, in the end—not because he misses the castle (he doesn't), but because Grimmauld Place—grim, old place, the brother he never understood used to say, laughing a bitter laugh, grim, old place (and it's frightening that he thinks he understands now)—has become suffocating and Regulus doesn't need the house to drown him, he can drown on his own just fine, watch him. (His skin is turning purple-green and his lips must be white and bloodless like his father's by now, so why is he still not dead why why why—)
