Summary
All that Odasaku has left Dazai with is a pack of cigarettes and hope for his young friend to have a brighter future. An honourable death, fitting for someone like Oda, saving someone else while sacrificing your own life. But Dazai isn't bright. His blood is Port Mafia black. And yet Odasaku saw something in him, so maybe there is a chance.
"Dazai..." Osamu has to strain to hear Oda's voice, all weak and shaky.

Through his tears, Osamu manages a pathetic whine. "You're an idiot...you're such an idiot-" It hurts to speak. It hurts, and it takes so much goddamn energy. He wants to fall into Odasaku, be safe in his arms again, but now– now the roles are reversed and he doesn't know how to save.

Chuuya swears he doesn’t like Dazai. Not in any way that matters.
Sure, they make out sometimes. Sure, he lets Dazai drag him to detention or to his shitty apartment when neither of them feel like going home. And maybe—just maybe—he doesn’t hate it when Dazai holds him a little too close, a little too long.
But it’s not love.
(Not yet, anyway.)
“Relax,” Dazai murmurs, voice lower, softer than usual. “It’s just me.”
And that’s the problem, isn’t it? Because somehow, somehow, Chuuya trusts him.
