Summary
“You’re not Tendou, are you?”
Tendou tilts his head curiously, in the way that he always does. “Oh? And what makes you say that, Wakatoshi-kun?”
Wakatoshi has never trusted his instinct—he trusts things that he can see, things that he can hear, things that he can touch. Things that are real. Never things that he feels. But this—this goes far beyond what is real and what is not.
“Tendou has only ever called me Ushijima or Ushiwaka, never by my given name. Tendou was certainly good at guessing during games, but never to the degree you’ve shown me. And most importantly—Tendou favored both of my arms equally.” Wakatoshi glances down at his left hand, where Tendou has a tight grip on his wrist. “You, however, seem to favor my left.”
Wakatoshi takes a deep breath. Prays that he’s wrong.
“I know what you are, Satori.”
For a second, Tendou remains silent. Then, he scoffs. And all of a sudden—he begins to change.
“Huh,” Satori says, the shock evident in his voice. “I don’t think I’ve ever guessed wrong before.”
