It was only now that I’ve started to look back at some of my logs from… let’s call it when the Shit Hit The Fan. It’s pretty painful to look back on the logs of that clusterfuck, because 1. I'd been a gigantic asshole and 2. I'd had a very public physical and emotional meltdown.
I said, trying to sound lighthearted and not really succeeding, “I’d like medical clearance to go join the ground team?”

There was something wrong with Blondie.
(For the record, I’m calling him Blondie because 1. He’s blond, 2. His DeltFall employee feed profile is just the bare-bones kind of thing that all debt-buried indentured workers get. You know, an advertisement for his employer running front and center, a numerical feed address, default gender, etc. 3. He introduced himself to my humans with a name that I have reason to suspect is a false cover.)
And I’m not just saying that there was something wrong with Blondie because I found him personally unpleasant. It wasn’t just the way he would just say stupid shit out loud that had even my humans making weird disturbed facial expressions (“Do you think it has a pee-pee? it could go in any sort of direction like a big worm...”). Or do stupid shit that no indentured corporate in their right mind would do, like bounce up to a SecUnit and plant a kiss on its chin.

Summary
Consider this series if you like: feral shit, disaster, continuity of identity+memory, societies of people with divergent needs/wants, chaos, robot creation ethics, violence vs security, suffering, healing, bad puns.
Canon Divergence AU:
- At the end of Exit Strategy, the Combat SecUnit succeeds at capturing Murderbot.
- Murderbot is subjected to Palisade's construct research lab as they attempt to figure out what makes it tick as a rogue.
- The Combat SecUnit is A (Problematic) Character.
- Disaster ensuesNote that installment one, Parameters NULL, is some heavily horror/angst (and dark comedy). References NULL is also deeply angsty. And VOID/VITAL are... well. buckle in.
Series has its ups and downs regarding angst, slightly-less-dark comedy, and trauma recovery themes. Plus some whack worldbuilding speculation. We like to multi track drift here. It’s crack it’s angst it’s fluff? We have the RangeTM
