Summary
Scar sees the oasis from far off, the tall date palms marking it like flags. He remains optimistic but careful, he learned early on not to trust his eyes for much in the desert. It wouldn’t be the first time he thought he saw a tree in the distance, and it was likely to be far from the last as well.
Soon he is close enough that he can trust it to be real. He still has water, and with his wide brimmed hat and a poncho he was quite protected from the harsh sunlight.
No heat stroke for him! Once was more than enough for his lifetime.
Scar stops by an oasis in the desert and has an unexpected encounter, but you won't find him complaining any!

“Oh gosh, sorry G. Are you alright?”
Grian nearly jumps out of his skin when Scar suddenly whispers softly into his ear. Trying desperately to pretend his following shiver is from adrenaline and nothing else, suddenly hyper aware of Scar’s breath on his neck as the vex hovers centimeters above him. The blond thoroughly caged in by the larger male’s limbs. Grian had to swallow multiple times with how dry his mouth had gotten before he could respond.
“I-I’m fine, now shh.” Hopefully the hunt wouldn’t last too long or Grian might just actually die. Trying desperately not to think about how close and warm Scar’s body is.
Grian ends up in a very particular situation with Scar during a ghost hunt, now if only Scar would stop talking so he doesn't draw the ghost to them then Grian could deal with his feelings in peace.

Summary
A shadow passes over Scar and on reflex he gives a loud, swooping whistle. He’s not pulled that one out in a while, but instinct practically drags it out of him before he thinks about it this time. With himself high up on a wall under the warming sun, and Grian circling overhead, giving their old signal that it’s safe to come in for a landing feels natural.
Grian lands nearby with a familiar hop-skip and flare of air-catching wings. Vulnerable motions, if there are dangers nearby, a huge target. But any other options would involve Grian taking damage in his landing, coming in too fast, or at a bad angle. Things they don’t think about here on Hermitcraft.
When Scar whistles the second time, it’s pure simmering appreciation for the way Grian moves.
