“Wha– seriously, you could’ve just stepped out the whole time?! Why the hell didn’t you?!” Dean gripes, noting the way Sam throws his own hands into the air, similarly exasperated.
“I was simply collecting my thoughts…” the man– thing, monster, whatever he is– replies, wiping soaked hair from his face. His voice echoes in an unusual way, a metallic ring to it. His brows furrow as he takes a moment to glance around the room. “Where am I?”
Sam shoots Dean a look, and he understands the translation loud and clear: what the hell are we supposed to do? They don’t seem to be in immediate danger. The guy doesn’t seem hostile whatsoever, despite all the stabbing that’d occurred over the last couple of hours. Still, they don’t have even the vaguest of clues what he’s capable of, and for all they know he may simply be biding his time. So maybe disclosing information to him isn’t the best of ideas– after all, it gives them some leverage over him.
“You were just letting us stab you?” Sam asks. The creature waves a hand dismissively, and doesn’t respond to that particular question.
