Viktor had been seconds away from his death. He had seen it coming from a mile away, it really wasn’t a surprise.
He resigned himself to his depressing fate, letting his eyelids fall shut as he braced himself for the killing blow.
However, moments before he was finally released from his miserable life, a man stepped forwards to intervene and, from that moment on, had intertwined his and Viktor’s fates together in a way neither of them could begin to imagine.

Because a stranger lies stomach down, ass up, and naked as the day is long on a chaise lounge before him, a curtain hiding the top half of body from the dip in his spine onward. Presenting himself. And that is the only thing his eyes lock on to.
Jayce goes to the Undercity for an anonymous encounter. It becomes a habit.

Viktor’s first fear is that he has encountered another Alpha, lone and wild, banished from his birth society and clothed in pelts of solo kills.
But tea-tree, boiling honey, and come hither of Omega nearly bowls Viktor over. Neck craning to meet the eyes of the towering man, a fear/thrill combo kicks Viktor’s own scent into the air, communicating back: I am Alpha; beware, Omega.
