If Paul notices how vicious the winter snaps at him, he doesn’t show it. Snow takes a second to appreciate his golden hair before melting away, it’s like honey against the greys and blues of the station. He is a flower growing in this cold, meant for poetry and butterflies. “I’d better go.” He nods, walking away.
Albert must look stupid standing there, mouth opened slightly, staring through the dark curls he hasn’t bothered to push out of his eyes. Willing Paul to change his mind with every bone in his body is an old habit, practically a favorite of his. Of course, He has lived through too many ordeals to know that hoping does nothing to change outcomes.
His friend continues to retreat.
I love you he thinks, and pronounces it “Goodbye.”

December 1st, 1944. Lieutenant Havers leaves for the new North-Africa front, but never returns alive. Leaving his captain and friend absolutely heartbroken.
December 1st, 2019. The Coopers are busy with the preperations for a very well-paying office christmas party, when said Lieutenant shows up at Button House, with a beating heart and a LOT of questions.
Follow them as they try to figure out what happened, and maybe find themselves along the way.
