    Summary

    A canon-divergence AU where Celebrimbor returns to Middle-earth and joins the Fellowship Of The Ring. Instead of trekking to Mordor, they intend to use his knowledge of Ring-craft to Unmake the Master Ring and thereby destroy Sauron's evil forever—if, with the help of the brave Ring-bearer Frodo Baggins, and the rest of their small company, he can overcome his guilt and grief enough to do so.

    As cover for their efforts, all the rest of Middle-earth now goes to war, with heroes both familiar and less-so scattered across the land on many disparate dire missions. Who will live this time who didn't before, and who will die who once lived to see the world made fair again? And can he who helped to craft the Power of the Ring indeed Unamke it?     A few months after the end of the Vong War, Luke Skywalker is brought back in time to during the beginning of his journey. Even though the galaxy is ruled by the tyrannical Empire and the New Jedi Order haven't yet risen, he decides to do a typical unorthodox Skywalker move: go off to save his father earlier. Jedi Master Luke, Fusion of EU/DC.

    This will not be an easy "Luke and/or Vader goes and kills the Emperor and claims the Empire" story. In my opinion, if Vader had survived Endor, or another successful attempt to destroy Sidious, then when he moved to keep the Empire intact, he would have encountered a lot of antagonism in the Core due to his deeds and reputation, along with a fair number of the military, from people who didn't want to be blamed for oversights and blunders. Regardless of whether he redeems his reputation and makes the right amount of deals, Vader taking over may still be seen as a power grab by at least a fraction of the Empire. That said, Vader is intelligent and has Luke helping him. Both are going to have a lot of work to do.

Even though he possibly couldn't save the Republic and Jedi Order from themselves, he decides to do a typical unorthodox Skywalker move: train his father himself. Jedi Master Luke, Fusion of EU/DC.

    Honestly, I'm sick of finding story after story where magically all major galactic problems gets fixed. Perhaps it's overthinking of the Prequels, but for me, when thinking about them, I see the pinnacle of a thousand years old Sith plan. The moment the Phantom Menace began, it proclaimed that the Sith had all cards in place to execute the Grand Plan to completion. That does not bode well for the Jedi and the Republic which have its fair numbers of problems even without the Sith.
