Wei Wuxian blinked rapidly, as though trying to process the sight before him. Then, ever the master of improvisation, he threw in a little laugh, light and airy, accompanied by an embarrassed wave of his hand. “Lan Zhan! What are you doing here? Don’t tell me you’re my new client!”
Lan Zhan’s lips pressed into a thin line, his gaze unwavering as he studied Wei Wuxian. “You’re… Wife-for-Hire?” he asked, the faintest trace of incredulity in his voice.
Wei Wuxian’s cheeks reddened—deliberately, of course—as he gave an exaggerated cough. “It’s a professional service!” he quipped, sitting up straighter and gesturing around the room as if to remind Lan Zhan of their surroundings.

Sizhui’s watermelon almost falls out of his hand. Senior Wei? A Fertility God?! Hanguang-Jun often has the appearance of a strong and powerful deity, but Senior Wei?
(or, a flood of rumours take a wholesome hit to the Yiling Patriarch’s notorious reputation, and the cultivation world finds themselves a new Fertility God. Shenanigans ensue.)

Wei Ying slipped his backpack from his shoulders and slid into the seat across from him with a smile, leaning forward and resting his cheek on his palm in what he knew to be a cute gesture. Most alphas became wide-eyed and stupid when he did things like this.
But Lan Zhan looked at him with serene intensity, like a pool of undisturbed water. Like the vastness of space.
