Mr. Sam’s dark eyes softened, and he reached out to place a hand on Tommy’s shoulder, squeezing it gently. “Everyone has to start somewhere; every poet, from me to Rudy Francisco, started off without knowing a clue about what we were doing. Tommy, it’s not about if you can or cannot write poetry, it’s about if you want to.”

Summary
The royal family of Antarctic empire isn’t exactly close.
Emperor Philza is always occupied; Tommy hasn’t seen Techno in months, and even if Wilbur is here, their relationship can be described to be strained at best.
The royal family doesn’t need to be close, however, it only needs to be balanced, like the pillars holding the country above their heads – as long as they are strong and steady, the Empire will be too. It’s the principle that held Tommy’s back straight and his shoulders broad through the years of hardships and trials of errors; through yet another formal meeting where his father’s gaze would look past him and where his brother’s words would be filled with poison that makes the deepest parts of his soul ache.
At that time, Tommy couldn't know that his family would find a replacement for him in the face of a commoner boy named Ranboo.

“I can… sense them,” Icarus bullshitted. Tommy pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Right. What are they, then,” he retorted.
“Uh… super… powers,” the villain answered, sounding more unsure of himself by the second.
Tommy wanted to bash his head against a wall. “Really? That’s the best you could do?”

Sapnap only stared at Dream with a blank face. “But I want to,” Sapnap replied.
Dream’s frown deepened. “Why?” Dream practically gritted.
Sapnap leaned a bit towards Dream, his eyes hardening. “Because they’ve been through so much and it’s about damn time they get the proper help they need,” Sapnap seethed.

In which, Tubbo and Tommy are in bit of a rocky spot: with Tommy not being able to fully trust the heroes after everything that happened and Tubbo now being a dragon hybrid due to the dreamon drug coursing through his veins.
The heroes are now more determined than ever to help these two teens.
The question is, will Tubbo and Tommy accept their help?
(And will Tubbo accept his new form and abilities, and remain the same or will he lose himself just like how Dream did?)

Prometheus was next to him within seconds and his free hand gripped the wrist of the vigilante. All it took was a pressured twist and Tommy’s weapon was dropping on the pavement.
“Give it up.” he commanded.
Now, Tommy was lucky for two reasons. Firstly: he wasn’t Orpheus which meant Tommy did not have to listen to a single thing he said. Secondly: if the blonde learned one thing from all heroes and villains -- it was admitting defeat was for pussies.
Plus he had a reputation to uphold so might as well go out swinging. Right?

Summary
Tommy has never had any interest at all in the vigilante life style that his roommates pursue. Hes perfectly content with his bookstore life and indulgence in poetry. I mean, why actually use your powers when they could cause so much harm? A bookstore makes you happier anyways. So, Tommy has absolutely no interest in becoming anything on the vigilante/hero/villain scale. Well, until he is pursued by the hero Dream under suspicion of working with vigilantes and villains. From there, he decides to train to defend himself from the hero.

So when he suddenly gains an ability after an attack on a mall that may have not been what it seemed, he does the only logical thing and doesn't tell his family.
