Summary
“Sir, calm down,” the cop outside the hospital instructs, more firmly this time. “We haven’t identified them yet. When we do, we’ll notify their family. You can’t do anything for them now.”
He hadn’t even thought he’d be seen as a doctor trying to help. All he feels like is a desperate, hollow thing that needs to know— needs to know— whether the dead, horrible thing that lays so close to him— and yet so far from him— is— was— Robby—
—Mike—
“No,” he shoves out of his mouth, shaking his head, forcibly rejecting this with every cell in his body. “N— No. No, nope, no, not him. It’s not— It’s not—”
or: someone takes their own life jumping off the hospital roof. jack and robby each have their own misunderstandings.

Summary
“You’re insane,” Eddie says incredulously. “Certifiably out of your mind.”
“Eddie,” Maddie groans, not for the first time tonight. “It’s a great idea. Trust me.”
“It’s insane,” Eddie repeats, staring her down. “You’re an insane person.”
“Look, just try it,” Maddie insists, reaching out and grabbing Eddie’s phone. She unlocks the screen and opens his contacts. “I’m putting Josh’s number in here for you. He’ll help you, I promise.”
“It’s not going to work,” Eddie insists right back, watching as Maddie taps away at his phone screen. “I know you and Josh think it will, but it won’t. Buck’s not going to care.”

(Eddie can't believe he's going along with Maddie's insane plan. It's a good thing Buck does in fact care.)

Summary
“Are you serious right now?” Eddie asks. “You know we have a shift tomorrow, right? Even if you run, you’re only delaying this conversation by about eight hours.”
“You’d really do this at work?” Buck asks, contemplating briefly whether it might be a better option for him to just dive off the edge of the fire escape.
Eddie probably wouldn’t risk jumping after him.
And it’s only a dozen feet or so. If he makes sure to roll when he lands it’s highly likely he’d walk away completely unscathed.
Eddie follows his line of sight, and an incredulous sound escapes him.
“Please tell me you’re not thinking about jumping off the fire escape.”
*
(Eddie finds out about the well. Buck goes to awkward and amusing lengths to avoid talking about it.)

Eddie smiles and Buck watches as the hairs on his face move with the line of his upper lip. He can’t stop staring at it. Even as Eddie moves to settle himself onto the couch next to Buck, instinctually reaching over him to grab at the beer he’s already found himself loosening his grip on, there’s only one thing on Buck’s mind.
Holy shit, Eddie has a pornstache. And Buck likes it. He really likes it.
