Summary
Stede is a divorced father having a midlife crisis and figured the best way to reset the life that imploded was by sailing the high seas. Too bad he took all but two sailing lessons and has no idea how to actually socialize, so after months at sea, the only friend he's managed to make along the journey is a recluse, called Ed who chats with him via the ship's radio.
Meanwhile, Ed has managed to find the perfect sanctuary for himself - a lighthouse far enough away from the mainland, but close enough that he can get monthly deliveries for the basics, while also maintaining some distance after one too many events left him wondering if he was just better off alone.
But a storm is going to provide a crash course to speed things along.
Now they just have to figure out if they can meet in the middle.

Summary
It’s a twenty minute walk to the first farm, and they’re halfway there before Stede says anything. This might be a good sign (contentment can make people quiet) or a bad one (so can needing to say something awkward), and Ed’s tussling inwardly over whether to break the silence herself when Stede opens with, “It’s good to get out of the house.”
Stede comes to live with Ed at Shibden Hall, and things don't always go smoothly.

Summary
Joe had built his career around words. As an investigative journalist he knew the weight an article could carry when filled with facts that labeled the atrocities, and injustices, he had come across. He had given himself a sense of purpose as he navigated the dark corners of the southern coast for the better part of his twenties. But his most recent endeavor had been to publish a book about the Temple Brotherhood, a local compound that some in the small city of Blythewood, whispered was really a cult. Joe had been researching the group for the better part of a year now, never expecting to land an interview, but a late night call invited him to spend the weekend with them so he could “see the truth for himself."
And what a horrible truth it was . . .
Or. Joe and Nicky meet under the most horrific circumstances and Joe helps Nicky find his voice as they navigate several complex roads to healing. The path is long and winding, with twists and turns, and the question remains: can hope, and love, be found after so much pain?

Summary
Memento Mori had started out as bingo prompt in the summer of 2021 and expanded into a precanon idea of Joe and Nicky coming across historical events that they strive to help solve together. But it never goes as planned, and sometimes it takes a lifetime (or two) to see the fruits of their labor come full circle - hence the sequel title of Circulus, and the expanded plot dedicated to my FTH bidder :)
The first story is, Memento Mori and is set in London in 1888.
And the second story, is Circulus, set in Chicago in 1893.Mind the tags of course, but in general it's meant to showcase their partnership, love, and how sometimes time closes the circles left behind from the ripples of our actions.
