Summary
Everything happens in a whirlwind of sensation.
Jayce feels as though his body is alight with celestial fire, torn apart in all ways but emotional, sinew shredding down to shards of bone only to be rebuilt anew in a matter of singular moments. Painful and painless all at once. Bursts of kaleidoscopic light are ablaze before his eyes, fragments of past lives on a feedback loop of murmuring static. The Rune – Acceleration – grasped in his hand, Viktor’s hand, held joint between their palms; they’re intertwined now, bound together by the fates in ways he’d only ever read about. The air crackles with static, the murmur growing in a fever-pitch, the words of his past bleeding together until they become a passionate scream that drowns out all but the feeling of Viktor’s hand clutched securely in his own. It feels like his head is about to split open.
‘Please’, he thinks desperately, ‘give us a second chance’.
He opens his mouth, ready to choke on Viktor’s name as they’re scattered among the cosmos.
Or: Viktor and Jayce start anew.

There are no further quips as Eddie pulls Richie’s hand towards himself, gently maneuvering it to flatten out against his stomach. Hidden behind the baggy shirt Eddie is currently wearing, his stomach rounds out under Richie’s palm, distended from breakfast.

Jayce knew Viktor well enough by now to know he liked oysters with “goodies” on them, but not on their own; enough to know his favorite dish was roast duck with braised cabbage and dumplings; enough to know he had a massive sweet tooth…
...enough to know about his little habit of eating just a little too much, eating until he moaned in discomfort, until he was a mess of stifled burps and little hiccups, until his stomach couldn’t be sucked back in.
And Viktor? Viktor had no idea Jayce knew about this.
Or so Jayce thought.

All Mel could do was stare.How else could she respond? What else could she do? She just saw someone who looked like her ex-boyfriend, talked to someone who sounded like her ex-boyfriend, walked the streets of Bel'zhun with someone who reminded her an awful lot like her ex-boyfriend.
But it wasn't Jayce, couldn't be Jayce. There was no possible way it could be Jayce. Jayce had been dead for three years, for fucks sake! Besides, the man she interacted with was too rugged, too fat, his hair too shaggy, his beard too long...he couldn't be Jayce, there was no way! It was impossible, right?

Summary
Viktor had sworn off chasing a cure that didn't exist. After some pleading, Jayce convinces Viktor to partake in a clinical trial approved by the Council, taking place right on Academy grounds. Promises are made to alleviate symptoms of the grey. Viktor decides to play along to appease Jayce. Besides, the only notable side effect was increased appetite. He was already wasting away, so what did he have to lose?
He didn't expect to start living again.
