A bunch of poorly trained children summon a pride demon to the human realm by accident. Their mistake is detective Kakashi's gain, as the demon, Iruka, is quite possibly the most handsome creature that he has ever laid eye on. Too bad he isn't known for his charm and Iruka clearly hates him.
Or does he?
As Iruka helps Kakashi solve his latest case, they start to get to know each other and something blossoms that neither thought possible.

Summary
Viktor doesn't know what to expect when Jayce's fangs sink into his skin, whether the bite will be excruciating or midly unpleasant. He anticipates discomfort, barely tolerable and unavoidable, a prelude to the relief he hopes for. Perhaps a momentary sting, if he's lucky.
What he doesn't expect, however, is the immediate euphoria.
It rushes through his system like a strike of lightning, sending every single one of his nerves alight with a pleasure so intense it makes his vision white out and his thighs squeeze together, a breathless cry leaving his lips that he doesn’t even recognize as his own.
Jayce pulls back at once, breathing labored and shoulders heaving. "Did you just...?"
Trembling and dazed, Viktor doesn't bother to respond, the proof evident in the soaked fabric below him and the shaking of his legs, because yes, he had.
Due to the aphrodisiacal properties of alpha venom, Jayce offers to bite Viktor as a form of pain relief after a particularly bad flare up. The reaction is...unexpected, to say the least.

Half a decade after Viktor leaves Piltover for good, a fragment of Hexcore permanently adhered to his soul, an old friend comes to him for help. This wouldn't be an issue, if the same old friend hadn't spent the last five years trying to hit him, very hard, with a really big hammer.
“You’re not real,” Viktor repeated, closing his eyes. Even with the knowledge that this was a dream, the gentle touch unraveled him. There was an impact crater where his heart should be.
The calloused pad of Jayce's thumb found the corner of Viktor’s mouth. “All right. I’ll bite – what’s your evidence for this hypothesis?”
Viktor smiled into the touch, felt it tug against Jayce's thumbprint. “Isn’t it obvious? You haven’t tried to kill me yet.”- Language:

Summary
The moment of understanding is a gear clicking into place. Of course it's Viktor. Of course the person he feels the most in sync with intellectually is the man he is meant to spend the rest of his life with. The possibility of the soulbond being platonic only briefly crosses his mind. They could be partners in science alone, but Jayce knows that's not what he wants. He’s attracted to Viktor, on a bone deep level. In a matter of months, Viktor has become his true north. His life revolves around coffees, study sessions, walking breaks, crashing on each other’s couches. He wakes and thinks of when he’ll get to see Viktor. He sleeps and dreams of his amber brown eyes, blinking lazily at him, holding secrets of their own.
Or: Jayce and Viktor are soulmates. Jayce knows Viktor knows. He doesn't think Viktor knows that Jayce knows. They are idiots deeply in love, and neither has the courage to tell the other.
