On a world where Alexander the Great left a dynasty behind him and magic is a part of everyday life the lives of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson are somewhat different. This series is meant to be glimpses into their lives and the lives of those around them in preparation for a larger work that will finally bring them together as they always should be.

Every day I pick a card or three randomly from my Tarot deck as a prompt. I thought it was going to be a series of one shots but a plot has evolved and no one knows the paths it will take to get to a happy ending. Not even me.

“Geralt, it’s not what it looks like.”

“Really?” he asked. He clenched his jaw before offering a sharp, mirthless smile. “Because it looks like you got caught fucking the mayor’s wife, and now I’m not getting paid!”

“Well,” he laughed nervously, looking anywhere but up. “When you put it that way.”

“But you admit it! You did tempt me!”

“I offered you warm food during a storm,” Crowley argues. “If you call that temptation, I’d hate to see you talk to an innkeeper.” Aziraphale scowls some more. Crowley shrugs. “Besides, no harm done. You seem to be enjoying yourself.”

He has Aziraphale there. “Still,” he says, spreading his hands wide. “It has to be said—” He glances up to the sky. “—for anyone listening, that I am not at fault for my appetite.”

“Never said you were,” Crowley says. “Just said you liked the oysters.”

    Summary

“I thought the best thing for you was…less of me,” Geralt says quietly. “You’re pretty much the only one in this keep who’s not bound to me by some sort of destiny, Jaskier.”

“Yeah, I’m the idiot who fucking chose you. Thought you wanted me to.” Jaskier swallows. “Thought you were choosing me too,” he says in a smaller voice.

Geralt hums, and holds him tighter.

“I was,” he says. “...I am.”
