Lucy jolts away from the intrusion with a startled yelp, and beside her, Dogmeat makes a similar sound.
“Now, I reckon you can pay with a show,” Maestro continues in an easy drawl, “Or you can pay with the bitch. Either way your girl’s gettin’ fucked, Coop, I just reckon I owe you enough to give you the choice on who’s gonna be doin’ the fuckin’. F’you don’t want to, that’s fine by me. “You’re inviting me to a frat party?” Nat takes a step back — Lottie definitely screwed this up. Whatever semblance of an acquaintanceship they once had, it’s probably over now.
“Yeah, sure.” Lottie shrugs. “It’ll be fun.”
But she knows that she’s lying. For Nat, the party won’t be fun at all. She’ll hate everything about it, and that’s assuming she even shows up, which won’t happen because like Lottie told Van, Nat has way better things she could be doing.
Nat laughs a dry, snarky laugh. “Okay, I’ll consider it.”
Lottie’s heart skips a beat. “You’ll what?”
“Do you want me to come to your party?”

Summary
For as long as she could recall, her family kept their issues hidden—keeping them at the bottom of the drawer, so to speak. “It’s impolite to push your problems on others.” Her mother had told her once. The Matthews daughter breathed in the words, however never exhaled them.
So even when the boys teased her for being taller than them, in the fifth grade, Lottie blinked away the tears in her eyes. That was how she lived her life. Smoothing her skirt and brushing a hand through her hair, making sure she always looked presentable.
When she began sticking two fingers down her throat, she kept the secret close to her chest. There it remained, or well it had. Until the Yellowjackets burnout came around, and tore the walls of Lottie’s castle down. Leaving the Matthew’s ‘princess’ defenceless.

Lottie is bulimic, Nat eventually finds out and also some gay stuff.

Natalie finds herself praying again next to Laura Lee on the cold concrete curb at the end of the Taylor Family's two-story colonial. Feet planted in the gutter. Smelling the vodka on her own breath as she whispers revelations into the hot summer night. She prays like there's only a single bullet in the barrel, and she's trying to punch through the fabric of heaven itself.

I wanted to write a really gay tragic explanation for why Natalie is so separated from literally all the girls at the beginning of season one. This is a tragedy disguised as a buddy comedy disguised as Nat getting passed around like a blunt.
