Phainon snorted, the fiend no doubt finding joy at Mydei’s perceived loss. “Right, okay.” The crown prince can stay in his delusions. Phainon cradled the ball of red fur, and immediately melted, “Awww, look at this little guy! Such a good boy, so well-behaved,”
It was very much not behaved, a ball of rage, more like. Mydei stared in disbelief, it was gnawing on Phainon’s thumb.
And yet.Phainon still cradled it in his warm hands, gently petting it despite the chimera's misdeeds.

sykkuno thought corpse was blessed by moon, for he looked ethereal with lidded eyes, a glowing outline given from the iridescent orb of night.
unaware of his thoughts corpse continued, distracted. “i’d like to be your moon. i can illuminate your leaden moments, be there when you’re despondent and within grief's grasp.”
sykkuno loved it when corpse was relaxed in these moments, eternally taut muscles faded and inaudible whispers of obtuse thoughts. it was during these rare seconds sykkuno could watch unabashedly.
“i would end the hours of darkness, just so you could introduce the world to your graceful rise. i would die so you may live and watch with your golden eyes once more.”

He can see ghosts, which means he still has family. Still has Shisui, and all the aunts and uncles and cousins and distant relatives he didn’t even know before. Still has mother, her kind smile and her knowledge. Still has father, as well, although Fugaku stays distant most days, wallowing in regrets and things that make the air around him terribly cold.
Sasuke is glad, selfishly, for that small mercy.
He could have lived without the ghost drama, though....
Or: the one where Sasuke can see ghosts, and things aren't as bad as they could be.

Summary
This whole thing felt like a big joke. Because it was. Clark heard Lois and Jimmy and Steve giggle as he dragged his feet out the door. He was tasked with the impossible but if he failed, his job was jeopardized. Or at least, that’s what Perry told him in a very stern voice that afternoon. How was he supposed to interview the guy whose whole thing is no one knows who he is or where he comes from or where he disappears to.
OR Clark Kent attempts to interview Gotham’s Batman.
