“There was an emergency evac mission called by S.H.I.E.L.D and they called Tony, Nat, Sam, Buck, and myself,” Clint explained. “Thor is in Asgard doing… something, Bruce is across the world for a world health crisis, Rhodes is with the UN, and Steve stayed behind to keep an eye on the tower and watch a rising threat in the city underbelly. If he’s down, now’s not the time to be alone in a battle.”
“Before I do anything,” Peter said, hushed, “I need you all to understand that I’d do what you asked if I could.”
“What’s happening?” Mr. Stark asked, immediately worried. Other voices chorused after, a blend of professional concern.
Peter swallowed hard before firing a web to swing into the fray. “Cap’s going after civilians. I’m out of time.”

Lance is just being a baby, he knows, but he needs their help. Things are starting to feel really wrong...
Or; Lance is captured by Haggar, who has some new, psychologically twisted ideas on harvesting quintessence.

After being seperated and captured during a Galran attack on a rebel base, team voltron and the crew of the Atlas had been on their last legs trying to bring him back. But the war doesn't stop for one person, even a paladin, and the attrocities of Honerva's new empire certainly doesn't. So when, sleep deprived and on their last legs, Voltron is called upon to stop a series of attacks from a new Robeast in the shape of a lion, it's hard not to take it personally.
Harder still, once Allura finds out who's inside.
They've failed Lance more than once, but they will not fail him again.
