His life has a purpose and he knows that, but this guy keeps showing up to take him to a new world and every time he returns his view of the city is hanging on an imbalance. Work here is important, but those rebels seem so happy Tyler can't possibly stop imagining what a life outside everything he knew could be.
Or: Tyler keeps getting dragged to and from Trench and cannot make up his mind on what life is meant to be for him.
