"I don't know who I am anymore, around them," Ponyboy exhales smoke slowly, so happy that he'd allowed Dallas to buy him different cigarettes to test and taste, happy to be out with him in their own little hideout, "I feel like I ain't a Soc anymore. Feels like I was a greaser born in the wrong body."
Dispatches from a Tulsa embroiled in a Romeo and Juliet inspired conflict.

Summary
Ponyboy Curtis was going to be an alpha. A real tuff one, too. His brothers were alphas, all his friends were alphas, so he’d be one too. He was gonna be an alpha, he was gonna go to college and he was going to get out of Tulsa like he’d always wanted. The only issue with his dream was… He wasn’t going to be doing any of it.
Or, Ponyboy Curtis presents as an omega and has his life flipped upside down. Eventual Dallyboy.

“ [….] Tim Shepard’s gang and our outfit are havin’ it out with the Socs tomorrow night at the vacant lot. We got hold of the president of one of their social clubs and had a war council. Yeah”—Dally sighed, and I knew he was remembering New York—“just like the good old days. If they win, things go on as usual. If we do, they stay outa our territory but good." — The Outsiders, Chapter Five.
Darry Curtis contacts every pack to get together for a war council. A look into each one.

Or is a better way to address the past would be to grab Ponyboy by his chin, knock that fucking hat off of his head and look at the length of his hair? Let Ponyboy explain to him why it was so long when he used to cut it before Dallas told him to stop? Make Ponyboy's eyes turn the color of rum beneath the light and snap at him to explain why he'd let Dallas just leave him with something so important tucked in his pocket?
Dallas in 1936, reunited with Ponyboy and Two-Bit on a train ride to Kalamata, Greece. He contemplates the the past, and Two-Bit unexpectedly fills in a hole.

Summary
Eventually, Cherry finally looked at the crowd with a half grimace, taking the mic. The yelling, the questions had become too much. There had been nothing from their manager, and her face seemed half frozen in a grimace as she spoke, "It looks like Dallas won't be joining us tonight!" There were confused sounds, some scatter clapping and her expression seemed to harden. "The show will go on!"
None of us, including her, knew that Dallas had quit the band.
Dallas quits the band for something sunnier: Ponyboy Curtis.

There is a Shadow World, like our own but different, existing alongside ours but never touching. Some people call it the world of dreams, but it is as real as anything else....
Tulsa, 1967. It's the last spring break before Ponyboy goes to college. He's got more worries than what he thought he'd have, including his relationship with Dallas Winston. All he wants to do is have one last party before he goes to a future he's more than earned.
Too bad that the boardgame he brought to the party is not just a boardgame. It's a matter of life and death, to play against Julian. And it's not just Ponyboy who's a player in this game, but the whole gang, or what's left of it. They just have to survive their own nightmares, one by one and hope they'll all wake up in the morning, the victors.

Summary
"I got a better job for you," Shepard says, voice more insistent, louder. "Just five fucking minutes. It'll pay you triple what Buck was giving you to haul ass." The gravel beneath Dallas' feet crunches in the noon day sun, his foot steadying on the ground, his eyes narrowed.
In the summer of 1966, the refrigerator in the Curtis house breaks. Dallas, newly mated and secretly married to Ponyboy, decides that maybe it's time to step in and contribute to the household.
Good intentions and all that.

Summary
He'd thought the same thing at eighteen years old, after all, when his parents had died and he had only been eighteen years old for a few hours. Things hadn't borne out that way — but he wasn't eighteen anymore, now was he? He was twenty-three now, with a steady job, with a pack who cared about him, and with as much money as he'd been able to save, waiting for his brother to come back by any means.
He repeats, "I can handle it."
June, 1968. Darry Curtis receives a call that his youngest brother, Ponyboy, has been found again. He drives to the station in Oklahoma City to get him back that June, eager to be reunited with his baby brother who was taken from him.
He's not sure, when his eyes fall on him, that the person sitting on that bench really is Ponyboy. Perhaps it's a cuckoo wearing his face, imitating his movements, using his eyes. Or maybe a single mistake in the past has now changed their current present in ways that Darry has not expected.

Summary
In March of 1976, Dallas finds that his relationship with Johnny Cade is treading uncertain waters, his relationship with his siblings has improved incrementally, and his father is once again demanding that Dallas work for him in the mob. Only, this work is a little different: it's going to their ancestral home in Palermo, Italy to visit his grandfather, who he's never met before.
When he gets there, he and Johnny Cade get the shock of their lives when they see Ponyboy is there, who they haven't seen since that fateful night in 1965. Only, he's not really that kid anymore, in ways they both have to figure out on their own.
Staring with the fact that he is not a Curtis.

"Is that true?" Ponyboy turns his head and glory, he's so good looking with that smile of his. His hair is in a half ponytail, the auburn still bright in the fading light, the tattoos on him bold as ever. "You promise Two-Bit you'd cook for me, sweetie?"
Dallas moves out of Buck's, and in with Ponyboy.

Summary
He knows that if he turns, if he walks as far as he can, that he could eventually find the road through the cold. Stick his thumb out and find someone to take him back to New York City, call his boss and he could get back to civilization — and with the civilization, he'd get to go back to the Organized Crime Bureau.
Would they welcome him back with open arms? Unlikely. Not with how their only omega operative was out in the wind like this. Maybe the only one who'd greet him back without judgment was Two-Bit – just thinking about him makes Ponyboy's eyes well up with something other than the stinging cold.
In 1987, Ponyboy finds himself stuck in a cabin. It's a bit of a trap of his own making.

Summary
"When this is over," Ponyboy says, his tongue heavy in his mouth, "Or if things don't go right, I love you, Dally. No matter what."
Dallas, beneath the stars, with his dark hair a mess above his eyes, shakes his head. "Pony, I'm not gonna let you go to the fucking - to the jail house, if you lose. I'm not." There's an odd determined glow to his eyes as Ponyboy runs his fingers through his hair. "Jail — I know jail would turn Johnny into something else. If you went in — "
"If I went in, I wouldn't blame nobody. Not as long as you're there for me," the words are drowsy, heavy and he doesn't want to talk about it anymore. "I love you, Dally. That's what matters."
September, 1965 — Johnny and Dallas live. That doesn't make things any easier for Ponyboy, not with his omega dynamic singling him out, his best friend dealing with life long injuries now, his family life still a tightrope he has to navigate, a court case on the horizon that will decide his fate, and his growing, mutual attraction to Dallas Winston getting stronger by the day.
What he doesn't know is that more people are in his corner than he thinks. And that maybe, things will be okay.

"I could gut you from sternum to your belly if I wanted," Ponyboy threatens, his voice dripping with anger, the slight grey streak on the right side of his head bright, his fingers squeezing around Ace's throat — fuck, he'd underestimated this stupid omega, flinching as Ponyboy digs the switchblade into his cheek deep enough to hurt.
Ace is very bad at sharing his cousin Dallas, bad at accepting the changes in life, and bad at viewing anyone not part of his blood family as anything worth keeping close. A character study in fifty sentences.

Summary
Living in Tulsa is very different from living in Ophidia — both because it's so much bigger than that tiny town, tucked into the Mississippi Delta behind small mountains that could keep total strangers out easily while Tulsa is a flat, open landscape teeming with rules Dallas doesn't totally understand and because learning how to fit in with those rules is much, much harder than it was in Ophidia.
Dallas adjusts to his new living arrangements in Tulsa in the summer of 1961.

Summary
"No dress this time?" Dallas loves how Ponyboy's omega scent — never dancing on that edge of sweetness like most, muddled up in Dallas' own ever since they mated so long ago — is everywhere, loves how he recognizes it as home as he waits for Ponyboy to beckon him in. He leans against the door jamb, folding his arms, liking the way the St. Christopher glimmers on Ponyboy's bare chest. "Or you figure coming home to you naked as a bear was enough?"
Dallas and Ponyboy at home in 1970 on a summer afternoon, with reminders of the past.
