    Summary

The Fates cast Percy Jackson into the past to right the wrongs that threaten the future, but he must journey back further than he imagined to stop them. He finds himself in the time of The Odyssey, where Ithaca is overrun with suitors vying for Queen Penelope's hand. The key to saving the world, to defeating Gaea, lies somewhere on Ithaca, and Percy must assume the identity of Antinous, infiltrating the suitors to find it.

To protect Penelope and her son, Percy plays a dangerous game. By day, he mocks tradition and courts the queen with sharp smiles and hollow words. By night, he intercepts assassination attempts and secretly leads Telemachus away from ambushes he doesn’t even know he’s avoided. He is their shield and protector.

But the queen and her son don’t see a protector. They see a threat.

To them, Antinous is the most cunning and dangerous of the suitors. Arrogant, intrusive, and far too clever. Telemachus loathes him, believing him the sharpest knife at his mother’s throat.

As time goes on, Percy must decide how far he’s willing to fall to save the world, and whether a hero’s heart can survive behind a villain’s name.

Today: Telemachus, only twenty years old, having voyaged only for one year and accomplished little, son of Odysseus, grandson of Laertes, prince of Ithaca, will suffer a sheep’s death in compensation for the son the God of Tides has lost. Oh, to sleep, to dream—for it’s nobler to not be the son of a man on a god’s shit-list—gods, save him—Antinous might’ve been kinder, fuck—

    OR

In which Odysseus arrives home to Ithaca later than anticipated and the suitors have already left to slay Telemachus by the time he gets there.

    Summary

Percy Jackson knew that he wasn't always the most aware of his surroundings but he's almost positive that he didn't originally fall asleep on this beach. Nor does he recognize the pretty boy standing over him wrapped in his finest bedsheet. Once the boy introduces himself, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that this Telemachus, prince of Ithaca was THE Telemachus, prince of Ithaca.

Surrounded by blood hungry suitors and stripped of the comfort of his pants, Percy isn't sure how he's going to avoid offending the gods here. He didn't have the greatest track record of that back home. Telemachus seemed happy to have a friend in the palace and the queen looked at him with knowing eyes. What she knew, Percy wasn't sure but she definetly knew something. With Athena at Telemachus' side and Apollo following Percy around, this new land was shaping up to be very different than his own.

    Summary

Glancing in past the door left ajar, Odysseus sees Telemachus and a tall figure standing at the window, facing the sea beyond. The figure - a woman - ruffles Telemachus’s hair familiarly as he bends over in laughter. There are scars all over the woman’s body, and her half-armor is battered and dented and of a make unlike anything Odysseus has yet seen in Ithaca. He’s curious, perhaps slightly suspicious - because being back with his family has softened his heart but it has not dulled his edge - and leans in to get a better view.

And then Odysseus sees her face, recognizes her, and lets out a sound like he’s been punched.

    Summary

Aphrodite had foreseen Paris' triumph – her triumph, in truth. The moment his eyes would fall upon Helen of Sparta, he would understand: this was the reward for his devotion, this was the woman the gods themselves had deemed worthy of a prince so favoured.

She had not foreseen his rejection.

Had not expected him to turn away from the prize she had laid before him, to spurn the very woman he had once coveted with all his heart.

Nor had she anticipated that his desire would stray – not to another queen, most certainly not to Helen’s own cousin.

    Penelope of Sparta.

(Or, after coming across a portrait of Penelope during his time in Sparta, Paris of Troy switches his kidnapping victim from Helen to Penelope. This proves far more detrimental than anyone could have imagined - a spark burning so bright that even the Gods on Olympus are caught in its flames.)

I wrote this because I wanted more Hermes. Basically an extended version of Hermes and Ody's trip back to Ithaca, with monster fights and therapy and all that jazz. I threw Artemis in there, too. Plus, some godly drama and Ody settling back in :)

Odysseus has spent years alone now. His beloved Penelope had left this Earth before him, she was with Gaia now. Telemachus has traveled beyond the world, riding the waves like he once did. He was alone now, a pathetic king sitting on his throne, his head hanging low like that of a crown made of the weight of gods. Until one faithful evening; where he met an old foe, whom may be his friend now.

    OR —

Odysseus is sad because he lost his wife and his kid is a grown up. Poseidon decided to visit him because he's a little shit; turns out they're just madly in love.
